and after “observing” some “situations” where safety is concerned, we want
to point out...
Skiing And Boarding are Sports that involve Skill and Speed and we want to
take a moment to highlight the importance of promoting safe passage by
increasing Top-Of-Mind awareness for the value of responsible conduct.
Our comparatively small, but very keen audience are probably the last people
who need reminders about safety in our winter sports, however, we are also
the most influential within our peer groups when it comes to Sharing the
wisdom of responsible Speed within actual Skill sets. What we see from
time-to-time is the “I Dare You” peer group pressure to induce those of
lower skill levels to either go beyond their safe speed capabilities or beyond
their safe terrain difficulty capabilities.

Crews are there in part, to promote those same Safe Knowledge Concepts
and we want to remind our readers that we have have a responsibility within
our own peer groups to do the same. Bring as many of your friends to the
Mountain as you can, but encourage them by example to respect “Safety First”.(**)
Moving Forward...
It’s Sunday on the First Weekend of the New 2016/17 Ski/Board Season!
What does that mean?
Our prediction is that it is essentially a “Half Day” in terms of many in
attendance today because of the following factors.
1) Dormant Muscles from a whole Summer off, just got a Kick-Start yesterday,
and not only were they sore this morning, but after another morning of
high intensity rip-roaring around... cramps and fatigue overwhelm enthusiasm
and the First Weekend Warriors run out of gas by about 1:45
2) Tomorrow is a School day. Families from Ottawa, Montreal, Up-State New York,
and all other Regional areas need to hit the road, so there are many who start
Skiing early, then pack up early to make the trek back to “Theirtown”.
3) All Of The Above.
For those that can Ski/Board Sunday afternoons, it’s often(but not always),
a great, relaxed, low traffic volume afternoon that is most enjoyable.
Part of that enjoyment is that it's the really keen Skiers/Boarders that
stay out ’til “Last Run”, so you get to see some very good technique
demonstrated.

We are very pleased to see Snowmaking setup’s appearing in some
key areas such as this Versant Nord, North Side favourite “Rope Tow”
as can be seen by passengers riding overhead on the Lowell Thomas
Triple Chair as it approaches the Summit.

DO NOT GO ON Out of Bounds Terrain
There is enough natural snow on the Mountain to tempt the most adventurous
Skiers and Boarders to go Out-Of-Bounds to explore what they perceive as
usable terrain. We categorically discourage this practice.

Page under Progressive Assembly... It’s Still Snowing, and you should still
be making every practical effort you can to get yourself onto the fine early
season slopes for all the benefits of vigorous outdoor exercise. The bonus is
the extraordinarily beautiful setting of the Natural Snow White Laurentian
Mountains where Tremblant shines as an excellent Alpine Snow Sport destination.
