T360 Apres Ski Intro @ 9:45 P.M. ...
No Words/Camera Could Adequately Do Justice To The Scenery...
so the best we can do is show you this:
All we can say is this is the kind of Laurentian Winter Mountain Scenery
Artists have been trying to capture for over Two Centuries...
No Words/Camera Could Adequately Do Justice To The Performance...
so the best we can do is show you this:
All we can say is that today was the kind of Ski/Board Performance
you’d like to have very day you set foot on an Alpine Trail.
Limited Early Season Terrain, for sure, but what we have is in
exemplary condition and worth every shred of effort you can make
to get out for. Primo, Primo Early Season Training.

5(*) Open trails on Very Snowy Summit Sud, South, and Nord, North Sectors
at #Tremblant.
Very Fine Early Season Days To Take Off For Tremblant.((**)more on Park below.)
Even though it’s technically still “Fall”, there’s no doubt you’ve entered into the
“Winter Zone” when you get to Tremblant. Off-loading at the Summit with Skis
or Board in hand with the all-encompassing Whiteness of Winter surrounding you
only adds to the sense of anticipation for the runs you are about to make.
The New, Natural Snowfall which has been gradually accumulating for over a week
has been consistently of a relatively fine, i.e., small size particle. For the most part,
it has been quite dry, but there’s been just enough moisture content to allow it
to bond with itself as it deposits on every surface it finds.
Not only has this contributed to the spectacular scenery, but it is also a major
asset to Groomed Trail Surfaces. Ski/Board Fans at Tremblant have been very
fortunate for the initial days of the season and in the days to come, we feel it
will lead to a quite rapid expansion of Open Terrain over the next two weeks.
There’s just way too much Snow around here to expect anything else.
New Terrain Snowmaking Development.
This shot of Snowmaking on McCulloch will be appreciated by
many Fans of this iconic Tremblant Trail. The advantage this year
is the significant amount of Natural Snow on it(as well as all other
trails), before the Guns were fired up. We think that because of that,
it may take less time to get this, and many other trails to the point of opening.
As Of Yesterday... There are many other Active Sectors of Snowmaking which
we are very happy to see getting started up. In addition to the outright expansion
of Open Terrain, the primary logistical advantage of Ski-Out to Base Levels is going
to be the next and best User Friendly benefit. “On the Surface” of things, “literally”,
it seems like it should be an easy task for Mountain Crews to “Connect The Dots”
for Base descents with all the Natural Snow already there. Indeed, riders in the
Gondola yesterday could not help but observe not only many, many tracks on
the lower slopes, but the obvious presence of groups descending underneath,
which generated a lot of excited conversation on the way up, and later on,
in the lineup to Download.
There is Unofficial information that the Sud, South Base Ski-Out descent may
be available by the end of this work-week and we attempt to verify that, if possible.
In the Meantime...
Every Grey Day So Far Has Been SNOW! It just keeps piling up...
(**) More Park Detail:
We are not Primary Park People, but we love taking Park Pic’s and we
would have to say that in the observations of the last 5 years or more,
we can not recall seeing any Opening Park feature as well developed
as this seasons Opening with the “Progression” Park on lower Alpine. Sud/Nord, South/North... It’s All High Performance Snow!
South Sample Beauvallon:
North Sample P’tit Bonheur:
Above:
In addition to the very fine technique and performance being demonstrated
above, this telephoto shows the fine, as in small, particle size of the snowfall
that’s been typical at Tremblant over the last week. Accumulations are more
apparent every day, but they are not those Postcard big fat flakes, they are
Photography Challenging Fine Filters which are highlighted in this case, against
the background of the Skiers Black outfit.
Regardless of size, this Snow has held great speed and control. It has
Groomed well and has excellent Glide under Skis.

The Opening Weekend Holiday Folks have all gone back to “Where-Everville”
and this should be a week of more consistent all day smoothness due to
the decrease in traffic density.
These are great training days for those who can attend. All those muscles
that can not be activated by any other means than the Sport itself, will
come alive quite quickly now if you can get some days off for lapping.
Thanks for your Visit...
