Weather Notes:

Sud, South Base Level starting at -3C, rising maybe up to +1C, with Natural
Snow Icons, so the elevations of the Mountains Trail network may stay Sub-zero,
all day. At these indicated Base temps, all but the the last few metres, essentially
“Johannsen” Trail down to the gondola, could be unaffected by any thermal force.

In cases like this with the temps floating around zero at South Base, the entire
Nord, North can remain below, even if by only a degree or two.

Sunshine?

We have not had a lot of Sun so far this fall, which in this case has
meant mostly SNOW..., so we’re not disappointed. Yesterday was basically
the second, however brief or momentarily, day of some “Sunny Breaks”
and when they happened the sky was very dramatically swirling cloud.

This example above was shot just below the Summit on the Newly Opened
Lowell Thomas Trail and while the brightness knocks out a bit of the contrast,
the Blue/White scene of Cloud, Sky, and Snow are spectacular to see first hand,
particularly considering the rapid dynamic of the cloud shapes and motion.

You really want to be here to see it for yourself. The intensity of the actual
contrast the naked eye can process can not be duplicated by any camera on the planet.

The top-of-page pic. illustrates how the Summit was frequently at or above the
cloud line. Looking over-top of cloud formations is always interesting. Most people
equate that view with flying, but the very neat part about the experience at Tremblant
is that you are stationary and it’s the clouds that are moving. With a vigorous
wind, the captivating movement within the cloud formations is changing by the
second, so you get a real impression of how fast the weather is moving.

Condition Notes:

Yesterday was the first day of Total Mountain Vertical Access Via Versant Nord,
the North Side. Typical of first days on any newly Opened Trails, there can be some
chunky bits from the Grooming/Shaping that takes place after Snowmaking and
natural snow are levelled for Skiers/Boarders use.

There was a bit of that on Beauchemin Bas, Lower, over the crest and down the first
little pitch, below the entrance to the Edge sector. It was not a major glitch and the
width of Beauchemin at that point allowed traffic to spread out enough that it did not
develop big moguls, so it is simply a minor day 1 thing and we are confident
an overnight Grooming cycle will have rendered out over 80%. Traffic also helps,
so do your part and get your Edges onto the New Slopes!

Beauchemin Bas has Opened this season at approximately Double the width
of last season due largely to the abundance of Natural snow and that has made
a huge positive difference in the initial durability of the day's conditions there.

All other areas of Beauchemin Bas were Very Fine, and everything Open on the
the whole Mountain was FAST!

Please Note: The 11th Trail Added is “Onesime”, a small learning
space at the Sud, South Base level, located to right of the Gondola
as you look up, so it does not materially affect the Net Mountain Alpine
Open Terrain.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
