This “After” may make more sense when you see the Night-time “Before”, below...
The Yin/Yang of a 24 Hour Event that raises over $3,000,000 in one day!
A Note To Future Winter 2016/17 Tremblant Trip Planners:
Sneaking Up on Mid-December, Tremblant is in Great Shape for a well established
Seasonal Base on all sides. Tremblant Trip Planners sitting at a distance should
take comfort in this early season advantage that will favourably influence
conditions whenever you’re arriving. Both the Frost into the Mountain, as well
as the outright accumulations of Natural Snow are principal factors that
positively effect the quickness with which the Mountain achieves maturity
of conditions quality and All-Season durability.
Back to today... in the Orig. Post below, we talk about Duncan Trail Open Soon...
That may be Tomorrow!
From Top....
.......................................... .They’re Workin’ On It!
To Bottom....
Some Probability Duncan Open In Morning?
and/or Progressively Later On???(**)
(**)Lift Line Rumours from multiple and usually quite creditable sources.
Otherwise....
Generally speaking, a few Icy bits, mostly in Trail Centres and on Steeper
Pitches, but Largely Good with well tuned equipment. There were a few zones of
debris that you could see and avoid if you were looking forward and kept speed
at reasonable levels for facilitating evasive manoeuvres. Too much speed and
you’d blow right through them.
If you got dull edges, you gunna occasionally feel like ur wearing an "Ejector Seat”,
or more apropos, “Ejector Skis" .
Go Easy First Time Around, But GO!... it’s Technical Skiing that requires
smooth control inputs without any Jerky Jammin’!
All Surfaces should respond very favourably to an Overnight Grooming Cycle
and we expect to see noticeable refinements as a result. First tracks look quite
promising for tomorrow!
Tomorrow Weather... -4C, Natural Snowfall X 4,5,6,7 Cm’s???
light to moderate Easterly breezes.
Sorry for quicky Apres Ski, but too much going on so... More in Morning!
(or later on if possible)

20(*) Open Trails On the 24Hr. Children’s Charity Fundraising Marathon Slopes of #Tremblant
Repeat Pic. From Last Night’s Apres Ski:
Very Etherial, @ -16C, and not hardly a breath of wind as you can see from
the reflection over the lake.
As far as the General Ski/Board Public is concerned, i.e., those just out for
a day on the very fine, early season slopes, the feature most anticipated in
todays conditions may be the confirmed availability of 24hr Event Course Terrain,
after the noon hour finish.
The most favourable outcome is complete Versant Sud, South Side, Ski-out to Base.
It is our understanding however, that this result may rely on the safe conditions
at the bottom of the course on Johannsen after 24 hours of continuous use
that can create wear factors that may need grooming to bring back to
normal Guest utility standards. We only mention this in an abundance of caution
as we do recall at least one previous season where the opening was delayed.
Johannsen is listed as Groomed and Open, and by 1:30 P.M. it will probably be
evident how early, and to what extent this Terrain may be accessible. Tremblant.ca’s
Official Blog, dated Dec. 9th, does state that Johannsen will be available and
there will be tremendous enthusiasm for this seasonal benchmark of utility that
means the end of having to line up for a Gondola Down-load at the end of the day.
The Official Open Trail Data has also re-listed Nansen and Nansen Haut as Open,
so the Mi Chemin return to the TGV Quad looks good to go and we predict
that sector will have some of the best Multi-Skill Level cruising conditions today.
Interesting To Note:
Snowmaking Icon on Versant Soleil Summit Level Access Trail "Franc Sud”, and...
this is the second day this trail has been under development, which we think
signifies the long range, say Xmas Holiday time possible for this portion of the
Mountain?
Very Important Versant Nord, North Side Duncan Trail News.
Weather Notes: Graphic Courtesy Of Weather Underground.
Please Note: Following Graphic is for Summit Level
Starts out at -16C, Sunny Sky and warming up to around -8C or so.
Best part, Light winds, so even if it is cool out there, the calmness
will make it seem warmer.
It’s Sunny, But Chilly Out There! “Bundle UP” Alert!
20(*) Open Trails on the Archival Copy of Official Open Trails,
Grooming, Snowmaking, Lift Status and Mountain Conditions
for December 11th, 2016, Courtesy of Tremblant.ca Regular Tremblant Guests can thank the 24Hr Children’s Charity Event
for a very rapid expansion in area and quality with the Versant Sud, South Side
Ski-out to Base for the first time this Season.
Congratulations 24Hr Event Participants! If we understand the Math correctly,
the cumulative Total with this seasons pledges in excess of 2.8 Million Dollars
should put the Total Funds Raised at Over $24,000,000 since the founding
of the event in 2001!
It’s Never Too Late To Donate!!!
