12/9/16 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

13(*) Open Trails on the 24 Hour Children’s Charity Slopes Of #Tremblant.

2 Important Themes for the next couple of days...

1)... More Fresh Snow...

The 3 most important words in any Ski Resort Conditions Reporting!

2)... OVER 21.5 MILLION DOLLARS RAISED!

Some of the most important words in the lives of kids who rely on the support
that all these donations facilitate.

We took this Pic. on Dec. 5, 2016 before all the annual Event Base Infrastructure
construction, to symbolize the purity of the work that can only go on all year,
every year outside the busy event itself. $21,518,157.00 is the kind of number
that makes a real difference in the lives of the Kids who benefit each and every day.

Back To Today...

Here’s our One Pic. Performance Forecast for Today:

Big Snowmaking Sector Update:

Duncan Haut, Upper, Snowmaking Under Way.

Duncan Haut, Upper has obviously had significant Natural Snow accumulations,
however, as good looking as the pic. above is, there would still be uneven
ground contours and natural hazards under these still seasonally early surfaces,
so Snowmaking here will augment the total depth and provide more raw material
for Mountain Crews to cover, shape and groom a finished Trail Surface Quality
consistent with current standards of almost completely glitch free Opening conditions.
We say “almost” because any Trail Opening can have initial course particle size
for a day or two while traffic and one or two overnight additional grooming cycles
all combine to render out a finer net result. In this seasons case, that may happen
more quickly due to the higher proportion of Natural Snow in the mix.

Another Important Snowmaking Zone is Versant Sud, South Side McCulloch.

Above:
This is a file shot from earlier this week showing a similar amount of Natural Snow,
so comments on Duncan conditions from above, will probably apply here too.
The only traffic complication from opening McCulloch on the weekend(if it was
possible to begin with), might be the Off-Load from the TGV that would have to
cross the 24Hr Course Start Zone, so it will be interesting to see how Logistics
there could be worked out because the TGV complication effects Taschereau
and Nansen as well.

Weather Notes:

A) Repeat Graphic From Yesterday because it’s a 14 Day Outlook that still applies.

Page Under Progressive Assembly.... There’s more Snow, More Trails
on the way... and for those planning ahead to next week and beyond...
Ski Out To South Resort Base Following the 24 Hour Children’s Charity Event!

For Those planning a day on the slopes who are not involved with the 24 Hour Event,
Tremblant has plans in place to Open a considerable amount of additional Trails,
particularly on the North Side where there is no conflict with Lift capacity for the
event support.

Also, it is fair to point out that historically, once the 24Hr Event has concluded at Noon
on Sunday, Course Workers begin to dismantle the barriers and at some time early
afternoon, the course becomes part of the Publicly available array of Trails. There is
no guarantee on this though, because depending on the number of participants and
the wear and safety factors, Crews may determine that there is trail restoration
work needed that could be an overnight grooming project. Partial Course to TGV
may be one alternate post event Opening.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
