12/30/16 #Tremblant Conditions

74(*) Open Trails on All 4... Versant Sud, South, Nord, North, Soleil and Edge
Open Sectors, at #Tremblant.
It’s Been Snowing At Tremblant for Hours...
It’s Still Snowing at Tremblant Now...
It’s Going To Be Snowing At Tremblant For A while Longer....
The Official Accumulation Stat. is 9cm’s over 24 hrs., but there are Wind Induced
Drift Factors at work, so with primarily West to Sou-West Wind Directions, the North
Side may see beneficial Lee-Side Drift-in accumulations above the stat’s. total.
The above Pic. also confirms the “Snowmaking” Icons on Expo. We just happened to be
browsing the Web Cams in the Middle of the Night Shift, and we got this Web Cam
Snap Shot below of Crews getting all the gear set up for what many dedicated Fans
of this sector hope is a big push on Expo. Visible to the far Left of this pic is the Nord,
North Side Base of the Duncan Quad Chairlift.

The Skiing and Boarding are going to be incrementally better on everything,
both Groomed and Un-Groomed, but especially the Groomed. We are getting to
good depths on the Un-Groomed, but we also have a lot of Holiday Traffic anxious
to explore, so caution is still warranted over the Holiday Period in the Sous Bois, Glades,
Hors Piste, au Natural. Mogul ruts can have Downslope hazards that may not be visible
until you are just about right on top of them, so excessive speed may make them
unavoidable.
The Groomed Trails at Tremblant are the current Jewels In The Crown. Spectacular
Smoothness has been the Hallmark of This Seasons Opened, Groomed Terrain
and we have spent many hours lapping in Early Season Training with Historically
unprecedented Trail Opening Days of superlative Summit-To-Base consistency.
Other than daily Traffic Wear Patterns, we do not see the general Groomed conditions
changing much as there’s been a steady stream of New Snow within intervals of no more,
and in many cases, a lot less than 48 hours or so, since Opening Day back in November.
Notes Of Regional Perspective:
Conditions are so good in Eastern Canada right now that they are making the
Nightly T.V. National News Broadcasts. Compared to last years “Golfing On Christmas
Day” in Ottawa, for example, an average seasonal start would seem great, so to
have this Above Average Natural Snow component has been a tremendous asset
to Ski/Board Fans all over this neck of the woods.
That leads us up to... "It’s Busy Because There’s A Lot Of Great Conditions And
It’s The Holidays.” ...there may be Lift Lines, so be prepared to start early and
quit late if you want to get the most out of things over the next 3 days.
REPEAT Weather Notes From Yesterday... because they still apply.
Please Note, Re: Above, Below. A detailed review of the two different sources
above and below, show different Precipitation forms for Tuesday and with
Tipping Point +/- Zero C temps., no doubt, it could go either way. One factor
not shown is the ambient temps of the “Winds Aloft”, i.e., 100 metres, 200 metres,
etc., etc., Over and Moving above the Mountain that could are typically Cooler,
but could go either way in the end.
We say... Weather Forecasting is just as much an Art as Science, so if nothing else,
it will be interesting to see what Mother Nature has to say, and which way she goes,
when the time comes.
Additional SUMMIT LEVEL Temp/Precip/Atmospheric/Wind Speed 10 Day Forecast Model.

Busy Family Holiday As Time Permits Progressive Page Assembly...
What can you do? It’s just one of those time periods where there’s
so much going on... The main thing is to Stay Safe, Enjoy the Season
Responsibly, and Try to make it to Tremblant As Often and As Soon as you can!
