T360 Apres Ski Early Evening Edit,
under Progressive construct @ 7:25 P.M.

Working our way up from the “Greens” ...

The Following Are Clues Regarding The General Status
Of Tremblant Conditions Today...

There was still a degree of Soft thickness on Sissy Schuss, but it was not anything
that would stop a Beginner from learning, and/or practicing the mastery of New,
fresh, snowfall, a skill set every Skier or Snowboarder needs to eventually master.

The Green Trail Surfaces with the best compaction and full day smooth durability
were again, Nansen, a carry-over from Yesterday.

Tomorrow’s early surfaces should show just as much Overnight, proportional
improvement as this mornings.

Typical of most of the Blue, Intermediate rated Terrain, Very Fine Groomed Surfaces
with Great Traction and Edge-set Performance. Much of the All-Day Smoothness
we had hoped for in a nights refinement was realized and all the evidence you
need of that is contained in this “Last Run” shot on Johannsen at the Sud, South
Resort Base that is Mogul-Free after an entire day of traffic accessing the Gondola
Loading Zone.

Above: A Bit Soft on the focus, but a Hand-held, Long Telephoto, shot off the TGV Quad
overlooking the approach to the McCulloch Summit Level Pitch, while bouncing over Tower
Bogie Wheels, but... all things considered, the elements of a Spectacular White Winter
Tremblant Day are unmistakable, so we decided to keep it for it’s still effective,
Skier-recognizable impressions.

Please Note: This is a Well Marked, Expert, “Black Diamond”, “Difficult” Trail.

The Moguls formed here are, for the most part, quite soft and very easily navigable, if...
your forward speed was controlled enough to maintain grip on the often slick downside
trough’s between the moguls. You can literally see the carved edge arch’s where there is
soft snow, as well as the smooth skidded “Firm” surfaces, that are only inches away.

This is where Tuned edges are critical for seamless descent control. Moving from
vastly different, quickly alternating friction levels at any speed requires keen
sensitivity and that kind of control can only come with recently tuned Sharp edges.

Once again generally speaking, If you have good edges, you’ll think there are “Firm”
portions, if you have dull edges, you’ll think it’s “Icy”.

Finally, And Applicable To All Skill Levels... It Was Beautiful Today...

Tomorrow’s Weather? Forecast High Temp @ Zero C, Snowfall ’til 1:00P.M.,
and Ice Pellets after that, til around 10:00 P.M.
BUT... at theses close to Zero C, it could be SNOW at Cooler Mountain Elevations!

You Love Winter, so there’s only one sensible New Year’s Resolution...

It’s a little fuzzy around the edges, but it was one of several overhead, backhanded,
reverse, drive-by, moving Chair-Lift Snap Shots off the rising Soleil Quad as it
passes the “Refuge” Warming station on the way up to the Summit. It was just so
outrageously Beautiful, we had to try, so Phuzzie or not, it’s part of this record now
and we say... no camera can ever capture the moment the way your eye does
so you should come here ASAP and see for yourself.

The Performance was generally very good yesterday. We heard people talking about
Icy, but considering the previous days aggressive wind that worked to reveal some
frontal facing substrates, that was understandable... to a degree. Another possibility
is that some of those people expressing concerns need a tune-up. We have one such
case where we know Skis were dropped off last night at the Ski Shop beside the
Cabriolet Base for their Super Great Deal Overnight tuning offer. In this instance, when
the person described “Icy” we asked when they last had a tune-up and the reply was
“Can’t really remember, maybe a couple of years ago?” We told them in no uncertain
terms to get them in IMMEDIATELY. They are picking the freshly tuned Skis up this
morning and we’ll be in touch to find out how much difference it makes, but we can
already predict “Night and Day” type improvements.

Today is going to be a significant refinement over yesterday because of
the overnight Grooming Cycle that did not have to contend with either
high wind velocity or deep drifted snow. In particular, the mogul prone
thickness that was evident in the evolution of yesterdays traffic generated
wear patterns, should be far less, if not totally gone today.

There are really two principle factors there, number one being a whole
additional round of Packing Compression that will increase the density
of the 19cm’s of fresh Snow, and the reduced traffic as the Holiday attendance
group is now traffic on the Highways, not on the Open Trail Network.

--------------- 11:00A.M. Utility Up-Date.Re: Duncan ----------------

The Duncan Summit Level Pitch has been Groomed out
to it’s New Full-Wide Dimensions!
EXCELLENT!

This “Light Bulb” Brilliant Idea(**) has vastly improved the All-Day utility in this
portion and today is the first day of the New Season and New Year for it!

Merci Tremblant!

(**)Duncan’s upper pitch was the same relatively narrow
width for decades and last season someone in Management
had the simple, brilliant idea to expand the pitch width into
“Saute Moutons”(trail #62), and that made Duncan’s pitch
a far wider zone for traversing across. This excellent idea
has made a profound increase in “User Friendly” for all
Skill Level Skiers/Boarders to navigate down to BOTH Duncan’s
lower and less steep terrain, as well as the access points to
all other trails you can get to from here such as “Devils River”
#57, for only one example.

Progressive Page Assembly. Bottom Line Is: It’s a Fabulous Start to the New Year.
If you’re here, you already know it. If you’re anxiously awaiting the day you arrive,
relax, take a deep breath, and know that when you get here, what we have now
is simply the foundation for something that’s going to be even better when your
day comes!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
