Once You get up to the Top, Exit the Gondola and Turn Left...

Here’s your answer in this pic. below:

Most of this week’s Big Snow ended up on the North Summit Sectors between
Lowell Thomas, Beauchemin, P’tit Bonheur, and the entire Edge Sector.
We have more pic’s to process tonight from this zone, so we’ll have additional
in the Morning, however, a look at the Trail-Sides of this one below clearly
illustrates major accumulations here.

because it’s been so good to start with this Season...

“Better” pretty much means “Exceptional”!

(**)With Primary Reference To Intermediates And Beginners and within The Open,
Groomed, Trail Array(but in reality equally applicable to Experts), Our Very Favourite
Natural Snow is what we refer to as “Squeaky”(when you walk over it), Cold Formed,
Cold Exposed, Cold Shocked Snow. We think of it as the applied science of Cryogenic
Effect in reference to the Performance Characteristics of Snow in any respect to its
advantageous use or suitability in the conduct of Winter, Alpine, Snow Sports.
Typically, that effect is rendered in Overnight lows, so while we’re all sleeping
Mother Nature is working to our advantage.

Specifically, the current Cold Effect Snow facilitates “Easy” for All Skill Levels
because it is basically “Freeze Dried" low humidity, low friction, so Glide is
maximized, and Control Inputs can be executed with very little surface resistance.

Relating further to “Control Inputs”, i.e., Turning, Braking, Stopping, it is the
simultaneous ability of the Snow Surface Quality to first allow, then hold, what
Skiers and Boarders refer to as “Edge Set”, the intentional creation of momentary
friction for the use of changing course or speed, by tilting the edges of Skis or Board
into the Snow Surface.

“Low Friction” and the Creation of “Momentary Friction” may seem somewhat
contradictory, but is this very quality in the Snow surfaces here at Tremblant
right now that make it so Easy for Everyone to do their own thing, at their own
level.

For that reason, not only is it Great “Performance" Snow, but we think it is also
some of the very finest “Learning” snow you will ever experience. The wonderful part
is that in the average Tremblant Winter, these very desirable performance/learning
qualities are here routinely, all day, and almost every day.

Of course there are days when natural, seasonal Temp. swings give us either
higher humidity and/or eventually, damper “Spring” type Snow, but Tremblant’s
Northerly Latitude more often than not, re-sets to ambient “Cool” and we respectfully
submit that is a Huge advantage in both performance and enjoyment qualities of
Skiing and Boarding at Tremblant.

Many of these same characteristics apply to Experts in Both Groomed and
Un-groomed Open Terrain too, but Experts already understand that what
makes it good in these respects for one group, makes it good for all.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
