Fear Not! There’s A Fabulous Base, Immaculately Groomed, Durable, Smooth, Deep,
Ready And Waiting For Your Arrival. Referenced within nothing other than Statistical
Seasonal Averages for this date... We’re Well Ahead of Schedule on many important
dimensions of Quality and Quantity.(**)

We’re at the stage that we might refer to as “The Maturing Fullness Of The Season”,
and for all prospective Tremblant Trip Planners from Regional Day-Tripper’s to Far
Away Global Ski Holiday Trip Travellers, the current state of Completeness in the
Tremblant Alpine Trail Network the way it exists right now, is Exactly the Fundamental
Element we all will benefit from for the balance of the Season.

(**) Graphic 2017--->2009 Statistical Analysis following in tomorrows Report.

Thankfully, the Icy tendencies of the past couple of days has been vastly reduced
due to the fine efforts of Mountain Op’s.

To Begin With...

It Snowed Like Crazy For A While Last Night...

...and that should be a positive element in the overall daily improvements
produced by another Overnight Grooming Cycle.

Secondly...

Unfortunately, technical and logistical issues prevented us from having an
Apres Ski last night, so we want to review yesterday’s conditions in the latter
half of the day as not only a step in the record, but for their value in understanding
the evolution that each day represents to the changes created by either Mother Nature,
Mountain Crews, or Guest Traffic.

By just after Lunch, things had warmed up a lot from the early Morning Kool, so
that automatically qualifies as a big utility advantage.

It was supposed to be Sunny, and there were hints of brightness periodically
during the day, but not really much direct sunlight in a sky that was just enough
overcast to act as an effective filter.

The Loose Trail-Side Snow you see in these EXPO Trail samples above and below
is largely the snow that fell overnight back on the night of Jan. 11/12. At that time
it was thick, damp and somewhat heavy, but by this time, the two Super-Cool nights
have Freeze-dried out the humidity and it feels far lighter going through it.

As light as it feels though, the substates are very solid underneath, so that
somewhat offsets the looseness because there’s no malleable cushion underneath
to help absorb your weight as you progress.

On the Groomed portion of this and other Trails, the smoothness of the base is
your Best Friend, and we are ever-so-thankful that Mountain Crews got so much grooming
done during all the preceding days. Mother Natures normal, seasonal temp. swings are
unavoidable, however, re-froze “Smooth” is alway far easier to handle than re-froze
anything else. Mountain Crews did an exceptionally fine job of rendering almost all the
Groomed Trail List to similar Smoothness across the entire board of Green’s, Blue’s and
Black Trail Ratings.

Of Course... Next to “Smooth”, your other Best Friend is Tuned Gear. While it’s been
possible and very obvious that almost anyone can Side-Slip with some control on
almost any Open Groomed Trail, the only people clearly demonstrating competent
levels of Carving Performance at any Skill Level, are those with Recent, Fresh, Sharp
Edges.

Dull Edges are the Figurative Equivalent of a Pea-Shooter at a Gun-Fight, and
the Practical Equivalent of trying to cut Thick Leather with a Spoon.
Whether you do it yourself with an appropriate fine-tooth file, or as we
recommend, take your Skis/Board to the Ski Shop, you need the right tools
for the job if you want to have optimized Control, Safety and Fun. Period.

Here Is A 3 Shot Sequence Of What You Can Do At Tremblant Now.

Proof Of Tremblant Trail Surface Carving Performance:

From Intermediate to Expert... All Rolled Up In One 3-Shot Trail Surface Example.

This Above/Below 3 Shot Sequence just happens to be the lead
Skiers first day of pure carving with the instructional benefit
of the personal coach following. We were there by coincidence only,
but the enthusiastic cheers of joy from the student leading and
the equally cheerful encouragement of the coach following were
more than ample evidence of her excellent experience!

We literally had 2 seconds to Snap off the sequence above, so soft focus or not,
it represents the essence of being able to make the best out of Conditions as they are.
This is a Brilliant example of exactly why Learning at Tremblant, where there are ALWAYS
Technically Good Learning Conditions within the Open, Groomed Terrain, will make
you a Better Skier anywhere you go in the World.

And... Today Will Be Better...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
