1/16/17 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

T360 Mid-Eve. Apres Ski Intro/Edit @ 9:30 P.M.
Please Note: Open Trails Revised To 84(*).
Raw Text-Based Data Archive Attached Page Bottom.

Generally a quite fine Ski/Board day with very identifiable “Sweet Spots”
and “Sweet Sectors” of exceptional Carving quality within all Open,
Groomed Trails. There are still Icy bits too, but their locations are
in similar patterns on Crests and over Pitches, so very easy to predict
and compensate for.

Quite a bit warmer too, we’d say not as warm as forecasted by a noticeable
bit, but still perceptibly easier than recent days of Kool.

If there was a complication concerning the 10cm’s of Fresh Snow from
the evening before last, it is that it is so Light and Fluffy, as we described
it as “Dust-Like”, that even a moderate wind has been capable of moving
quite a bit of it off the bigger, wind facing, wide Trail surfaces. In combination
with the traffic wear commonly down the centre of Trails, the resultant Icy bits
were most avoidable by using Trail Sides/Packer/Groomer Ridges, where soft
turnable snow has accumulated.

This is an Excellent Example of an Excellent “Sweet Spot”... Versant Soleil Sector
“Laurentienne”, where all but a few metres of the Upper Pitch, was Super-Fine,
High Traction Carve/Shredding.

Due to the potential mix of conditions on all trails, we recommend realistically matching
your actual Skill Level with Rated Trail Difficulty, and or Default to 1 Skill Level Down
for Safety.

If you are finding Expert Trails Icy and Slick,
difficult to retain control on... then there are only 2 possible reasons why....

1) You are an Intermediate and not an Expert, even if you think you’re an Expert.
(Version 1.2) You are an Intermediate in some conditions that you are either
untrained at or inexperienced at, even though you may be an Expert in other conditions.)

2) Your Skis or Board have Edges that are out-of-tune, dull, and not sharp, in which
case, you’re not only using poor tools for the job, but in so doing, you’re not really
an expert, or at least a “Competent Expert”, either.

If Your Gear Is Appropriately Tuned...

The Perceptions of Conditions are directly proportional to Actual User Skill Levels
applied to Actual Trail Difficulty Levels. If you are on Trails Matched to Your Actual
Skill Level, you will have an Excellent Day.

Tomorrow should see improvements associated with another Grooming Night-Shift,
notwithstanding some lingering, but decreasing, weather generated issues.

Above: “Where did you take that pic. from?” the pic. above is a very long, hand held
Telephoto, about 1000mm worth of Zoom-in, of the bottom jump in the Alpine Bas, lower,
“Progression” Park, shot from across at the top of the Flying Mile Peak.

Repeat Summary From Last Night’s Apres Ski...

"There’s A Fabulous Base, Immaculately Groomed, Durable, Smooth, Deep,
Ready And Waiting For Your Arrival. Referenced within nothing other than Statistical
Seasonal Averages for this date... We’re Well Ahead of Schedule on many important
dimensions of Quality and Quantity.

We’re at the stage that we might refer to as “The Maturing Fullness Of The Season”,
and for all prospective Tremblant Trip Planners from Regional Day-Tripper’s to Far
Away Global Ski Holiday Trip Travellers, the current state of Completeness in the
Tremblant Alpine Trail Network the way it exists right now, is Exactly the Fundamental
Element we all will benefit from for the balance of the Season."

Written Descriptions of Positive Quality and Quantity Attributes are almost
pathetically insufficient to convey the overall Excellence we’ve experienced in
both New Openings and Ongoing Daily Grooming Cycle Results.

If the Top-Of-Post 2017-2009 Jan.15 Natural Snowfall Graph doesn’t do it for you,
then nothing will, and you are not a serious or dedicated Ski/Board Fan. If you
appreciate it’s Statistical Significance, you should be incredibly motivated to
attend at Tremblant as soon and as often as possible.

If you’re a distant Tremblant Trip Planner, this is the kind of “Progress Report”
you wish for and there’s every major probability that when you get here, the
Conditions For All Skill Levels are going to be all of what you're dreaming about
until the day you arrive.

What More Can We Say...(##)

Conditions Are Excellent
Within A Season That’s Excellent.

If you’re not making every effort to get out
as soon and as often as you can, you would qualify for
a Psychiatric Medical Diagnosis of
“Nuts”.

((##)notwithstanding Normal and Typical Seasonal Temp. Swings.)

-------- Revised Open Trail Status Raw Data Posted Below ----------

(***) It should be noted that despite the obvious differences
in the Year-To-Date Jan. 15th Natural Snow accumulations... regardless
of the individual variations in Stat’s, there has ALWAYS been Excellence
within the Open terrain. Important for all Historical Reviews is the fact
that North American East Coast Regional Weather is generally similar
each season, however, Tremblant’s more Northerly Latitude frequently
allows Mountain Op’s here to have an advantage of more consistent
Winter-Like conditions to optimize Open Terrain.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
