Prime-Time Winter at Tremblant!
For Experts:
Le Tunnel, entrance at Lowell Thomas/Rope Tow lower intersection:
For Beginners and Up:(**)
Nansen:
Sure, It’s a bit “Grey”... actually, it’s been sort-of “Grey” since about the
beginning of November, but for the vast majority of all this “Grey”...
it’s also meant “Snow” and today is no exception!
Yesterdays Snowfall was modest but always welcome, and evidently
the forecast amounts were on the lighter end of the “Potentials” scale.
The vigorous East wind also had a lot to do with where it ended up,
however we won’t have that in more precise terms until later on.
In the Mean-Time, any new snow integrated into another overnight
Grooming Cycle typically enhances the “Natural” feel of the new
day’s Corduroy, so it should be a great start with light mid-week
traffic.
“Thank Goodness For North” ... as in Latitude...
Once again, “Advantage, Tremblant” as the Mountain dodges a Freezing-Rain
bullet that caused Chaos the the vast majority of the East Coast right up
to a line above Montreal. Everything below the line got so much Freezing-rain
that on the Canadian National News Networks, for example, they actually had
Video of People Skating on the city streets of Montreal. Vehicular Accidents
across the Region to the South of Tremblant in the Thousands.
Seasonal Temp and Precipitation variables are totally normal, but Tremblant’s
Northerly Latitude frequently gives it a tremendous advantage in remaining “Winter”!
Page under Progressive Assembly. Thanks for your visit!
Weather Notes:
Starts Out Snowing... It’s been lightly Snowing through the night as well.
South Base Temps at -5C, rising to -1C sometime soon after lunch and “if...”
Forecaster’s are right, Partially Sunny Afternoon? It seems hard to believe,
but those “Sun” Icons are indeed on the afternoon hourly projections.
Temp’s up on the Mountain may not get much over -4C, but that just makes
it another Super-Easy Tremblant Winter day.
Winds have been Sou-West, are currently Sou-West, but should be swinging
around to pure West, so crossing the Summit from Taschereau towards the
top of the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair. Wind Speed is moderate to light, so
we don’t see any difficulties there at all and in balance it all adds up to a
really fine day of Excellent Performance Quality for everyone!

(**) We say “Beginners and Up” regarding Nansen specifically because Nansen
and all “Green” Trails at Tremblant offer even the most seasoned Experts opportunity
to practice the very finest of Technique Elements without excessive pitch that
can require compensation beyond the nuance of subtle control refinements.
Any Expert that does not benefit from periodic practice on Green Trails is ignoring
refinement potential. The absence of overwhelming gravitational force allows
all Skill Levels to concentrate on pure technique.

If you are a Regional Tremblant Fan commuting today, extra
time and care in transit are required for safe back ’n forth,
as messy roads may also be very slippery. Travel conditions
should improve substantially by days end.
