T360 Late Night Apres Ski Edit @ 11:30 P.M.
Tremblant360, February 1, 2017, PROOF OF SNOW.
There are still 50(+/-) cm’s Trail-Side, Hors Piste, Powder Snow Drift Lines
within the Lowell Thomas and Edge Sectors.

The Crowds(?) Are Mid-Week Light... so for much of your day, you really feel
as though you have the whole place to yourself. We had the camera out for
the entire TGV accent over the McCulloch Upper Pitch at around 2:30, and
this is exactly how many people we saw.

You will see some People out at the Summit, but as soon as you begin to descend...
you can get into “Full Tilt” Carving Mode and with prudent scanning for safety,
the consistent Grooming quality runs all the way from the Summit to the base.

The Weather Drama Continues as Fast Moving Cloud Formations move across
the Sky creating these ethereal backdrops. You can see the Snowfall moving
in over the Mountain and from time to time, there’s airborne Snow dusting
Trails and Trees.

In the Mean-Time, The NorAM Snowboard Cross Competition Racers were
practicing on the course that’s been constructed from the “Dynamite” Run-Out
to Expo Bas, Lower. Check out the shadow under this Jumper below. It Looks
Like Serous “Air” is going to be a big component of this event!

The NorAm BoardCross Event starts tomorrow and goes over the weekend
at Versant Nord, The North Side, on Expo Bas, Lower, right down to the centre
of the Nord, North Base between the Duncan and Expo Quad Chairs.
More about “Great Skiing” in the morning!

There’s Really No Question About Where You Should Be....

There’s So Much Snow At Tremblant...
Mountain Crews are now able to build a significant levelling refinement into
many of the trail bases where there is enough accumulated Natural Snow to
excavate from the Trail-Sides and add to the centres. This is predominantly
visible on Versant Nord, the North Side, Upper Trail Surfaces.
1.31.17.Nord.North.Ptit.Bonheur.Bas.Lower.Wide.Seamless.Smooth.d.jpg
Above is a Last Run long telephoto looking up P’tit Bonheur. You can clearly
see the vertical Groomed edge of the Trail and the snow that was on that
edge is now spread across the surface, adding not only an enhanced levelling
effect, but additional strata of base depth as well.
Below is a closer look at the P’tit Bonheur Trail-Side with some late afternoon sun
on it that shows more detail. The Excavated depth here is +/- 50cm’s/20 inches,
just under 2 feet of snow moved into the centre from each side. This is a rare
occurrence for the end of January.
1.31.17.Ptti.Bonheur.Excavated.Trail.Sides.Profile.50cm.b.jpg
P’tit Bonheur is at Interstate, Autoroute, Motorway, Super-Highway Standards
Of Smoothness that are Inexpressibly Fine for Learning. The Seamless Fluidity
of these surfaces is very difficult to describe and the closest analogy we can
come up with is this concept of a “Liquid-Like”, “Floating” sensation that you get
at at moderate speeds where there seems to be little or no apparent surface resistance
under your Skis. For absolute Beginners, this “Fluidity” will not be apparent the same
way because at low speed it will simply seem to be very low friction for “Pie-Shape”
sliding techniques. For Intermediates and Experts however, the “Floating” sensation
becomes immediately perceptible and we can pretty much guarantee you will not
be able to take the smile off your face that comes from the sheer joy of this
uniquely wonderful sensation.
It is not “Extreme” Skiing... It is Extremely Beautiful Skiing... where you can apply
the Nuance of almost infinite subtlety to refined Balance and Edge Sensitivity Control
over your entire descent.
Amazingly, we can tell you that these "Float-Like" characteristics are frequently evident
throughout ANY season... but the enhanced levelling is only possible with TON’S of
Snow Depth, and that makes today’s combination special.
This Grooming Production is also visible on Adjacent Sector Trails.
One Of Many Examples:
Lowell Thomas/Duncan Haut, Upper Sector, Trail #64(Mid-Point), Marie-Claude Asselin.

Weather Notes:
We’re giving thought to running a Feb. Weather Graphic Time-lapse(per diem), that
would be a basic screenshot format(as below), to show evolutionary nature of forecast
modelling.
Retrospective Weather Notes:
From 1/29/17 ... forgot to add this back then, but better late than never for
Natural scenery this dramatic.
PLUS: what’s relevant to today... in this pic. is that all the Snow you see groomed into
the above pictures is from the Snowfall System that is pictured below.

If you’re Far, Far Away.... Anticipating your Tremblant Ski/Board Holiday,
take a deep breath and try to control your very well placed enthusiasm.
It would be difficult to imagine any circumstances that would diminish
the benefit of such extraordinary early season development that you
will enjoy upon your arrival.
If you’re a Regional Tremblant Fan... and you’re not out for these conditions
as often as possible... you need to seriously re-evaluate your priorities.
