T360 Apres Midnight, Apres Ski Edit @ 12:25 A.M.

We Need To Start With The End Of The Day??? ...but we think you’ll understand why.

There are Nord, North Side And Edge Sector Powder Snow Drift Lines Over 140cm’s.

As Evidence, we submit a Two-Part “Proof Of Snow”
because the second part helps define the first part...

Part One:

Part One has a laterally placed Ski Pole to help show Scale,
but @ 120cm's it’s not long enough, so Part Two has the
only other handy Scale Reference @ 160cm’s which is long
enough...

Part Two:

The Skis Are 160cm’s Atomic Race SL, D2’s.
Ski Poles are 122cm’s/48 inch Kerma’s.

Proof Of Snow Summary:

We have found numerous deep Wind-Drifted Powder Snow Lines in the Hors Piste
that have depth close to the length of our 160cm’s Skis. The adjacent Trails do not
have that depth of loose snow on them, but they do have most of seasons total
including the Drift-in, Groomed into them. The benefit is the stability of the Groomed
Trail Base, not only now, but in our opinion, for the rest of the season.

The New Accumulation of today has some distribution over the entire Mountain
Footprint, however, there is no doubt there are sectors like our sample above
that have more caused by wind induced drifting.

Otherwise...

Getting off the Gondola at the Summit the snowfall was thick enough to
obscure vision to below 10 metres “White Outs” at times.

The Mountain-Wide accumulation we talk about above are shown here below,
on the Sud, South Base Trail “Johannsen”. We were going to toss this pic because
it’s a bit soft on focus and filtered by Snowfall, but when you look at how the Skis
are “Bridging” the tracks through the days buildup of falling snow, it becomes
clearer just how much has come since this mornings initially groomed flat surface.

We have spoken several time about the “SuperBowl” effect on this specific Sunday
and we offer the following, below, as support for that theory:

We submit that the only explanation for the apparent clearing of substantial numbers
at, and following, Lunch Hour, is the SuperBowl Party Plans of many Sports fans that
seem to need several hours of advance preparations or commuting. We have noticed
this specific phenomenon on this specific SuperBowl Sunday for years and commented
on the consequentially light afternoon Mountain Ski/Board Traffic.

As far as we’re concerned, it’s hard to imagine giving up even a single moment
on the Gorgeous Slopes of Tremblant for any Sports on TV.

With All The New Snow Today... Tomorrow may well be another Conditions “Best Of”.

We chose this Nansen Haut, Upper scene(from last week), as a Forecast pic.
because yesterday we did a “Green”, Beginner/Intermediate feature with
Soleil Sector “Algonquin” and Versant Nord, North Side “P’tit Bonheur” as
samples of very close to ideal Learning Environments, and of course “Nansen”
should also be included in any “Learning” reference for Tremblant. Historically,
Nansen predates them both by at least 60 years. It was not an oversight on our
part, we just happened to have those Pic’s of the day for inspiration, but
never-the-less, the multi-faceted character of Nansen benefits all Skill Levels
and at 6 Kilometres in length, it epitomizes the point about fast learning on
a Trail where sustained technical elements can be practiced over uninterrupted
time and distance.

We anticipate a fabulous day of full winter Skiing/Boarding for all Skill Levels
and across all Groomed Terrain. Overnight Grooming cycles have produced
a mature level of refinement that is State-Of-The-Art, and while “Perfect”
exists in concept only, about 99% is very near flawless, so really, really close.
Over the last 4 days we have encountered the odd little pebble or stick that
seems to have been stirred up somehow, but they are so small they would be
much like a few Drops in a Swimming Pool. Typically, any small debris has been
localized to Trail edges, but the best thing to do is to be scanning ahead
so you can turn well above and before anything that looks suspicious.

In the Experts Only Un-Groomed, Hors Piste, Sous Bois, Glades, there can
be Natural Hazards of loose organic debris, fixed rocky bits and traffic generated
moguls. Experienced Un-Groomed Fans know reasonable caution is required on all
initial explorations until you can confirm safe passage.

Two days Ago We Wrote:

"Near Term Mountain Utility Notes:

1) Typically the Open Lift Hours adjust From 3:30 P.M. to 3:45 P.M.,
sometime in or around the end of the first week in February,
courtesy of Mother Nature’s Longer Daylight Hours.

2) Sunday is the annual SuperBowl Discontinuum, a phenomenon
where entire groups of Rabid Sports Fans abandon genuine personal
fitness at activities like Skiing to gather in packs and watch teams
of Grown Men try to give each other Concussions while they statistically
drink more beer than almost any other day of the year and gobble up
Nachos ’till they ooze Cheese Fat out of every pore. Consequently,
Super Bowl Sunday is typically low traffic for a Sunday, which is a benefit
for Skiers/Boarders who are serious about their Winter Alpine Snow Sports..."

We Got This One Right! Open Lift Hours Extended To 3:45 P.M. this weekend.

As for the “SuperBowl Effect”... we’ll just have to see how that works out, but
at the very least we expect the Mountain to begin clearing out starting at noon
on the North and working around to South mid-aft., as TV Sports Fans make their
way either “Home” or to the Best Pre-Game Parties With the Biggest Screen TV’s.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
