Above:
If you’ve been following along, you’ll recall we’ve been focusing on Soleil
Sector Algonquin Conditions as a Primo “Green” Trail Rating Case Study.
It would be hard to imagine a Trail that’s Smoother, Wider, and more Gently
Pitched than Algonquin. We have legitimately referred to it as “Close To Flawless”,
mostly because it is close to flawless... however, today, we found a glitch...

Below:
We found a twig. It was right in the middle of our "Carve This” Surface
Sample shot, so once again... Algonquin is “Close To Flawless”.

Of course... complaining about a “Twig” is ridiculous, but that’s just about how fussy
you’d have to be to be critical of a Trail that is in reality “Close To Flawless”!

Temp’s Wise... today was cooler by a few degrees than yesterday, but with the
wind so quiet, for the most part, it felt warmer. We wrote that if you could find
a quiet sunny trail-side spot you’d be able to feel heat and that was exactly the
case. Numerous times today, as we stood stationary to take pic’s, you could feel
the sun on your back, a most welcome warmth.

Above/Below:
As Good as Algonquin is, we found our Un-Official Cruising Award for today
belonged to Versant Nord, North Side, Beauchemin Bas, Lower. With its
moderate pitch generating good speed, and its optimal, super-traction top
layers for handling, this Trail jumped out with it’s overall Fun Factor.

These are only two samples out of close to One Hundred Very Fine Tremblant
Trails, and we continue to endorse the concept that if you choose appropriately
for your actual Skill Level, you will have an Excellent Tremblant day.

Tonight is another Cool one with forecast down to -20C. It’s one of those “Crisp”
winter nights and it is also forecast to be cool for tomorrow, only reaching -16C
after lunch. Definitely a “Bundle Up” Day. Moderate Nor-West breezes could be
more-or-less influential depending on if they have more-or-less velocity than
forecast.

We’ll know a lot more at Sunrise if the overnight low holds at forecast,
but for sure, the Skiing will be Excellent on all Open, Groomed, Terrain.

96/96(*) Open Trails on the 100% Open Slopes Of #Tremblant.

There’s A Lot Of Very “Cool" Snow Flying Around At Tremblant.

In Hindsight, the much feared “Freezing Rain” of the 48 Hour ago forecast
turned out to be mostly a Non-Event in any lasting way and the return to
100% Open this morning will be welcomed with relief by the purest Tremblant
Fans anxious to explore where the 28cm’s of New Snowfall settled.

Mountain Crews Were Waiting For Apres Ski...

On the Groomed Terrain, as long as you select rated Black, Blue or Green
Trails appropriately matched to your actual Skill Level, we don’t think you can
make a mistake. Our entire experience has been exceptionally fine Groomed
Snow Surfaces across the complete array.

In the Un-groomed... Look at the top-of-page pic again... 95% White Winter Wonderful,
with whatever variable sized glitches that can happen due to uneven substrates,
traffic concentrations, wind forced Snow movement and any other naturally
occurring irregularities are possible. There is always good reason to be cautious
while exploring Hors Piste, Sous Bois, Glade Zones.

Regardless of where your Skis take you at Tremblant today, it’s going to be
cooler in the basic air temperature, but with the wind only a fraction of what
the past two very blustery days have seen, it may actually seem warmer.
If you can find a wind sheltered safe trail-side Sunny Spot, you will feel
Heat in the Solar energy.

Another Plus from the overnight low should be the very high performance
that comes with Cold-Shocked Snow that’s now Squeaky-Dry and Super Fast.

One of our primary Versant Nord, North Side Sector conditions samples
is Marie-Claude Asselin, Trail #64. Recently groomed, this Black Rated
Trail is what we’d call an easy Black and on top of that, it has an inside
scenic POV that is breathtakingly beautiful if you stop to look at it.

There is not a single camera on the face of Earth that can adequately
capture the spectacular, yet intimate magic of this Post-Card scene
and if you have not been here recently or ever, then you should consider
it a top priority at your earliest opportunity.

Groomed as it has been, the Skiing on MCA is very smooth for either
carved Slalom-Style or Parallel “Stem Christy” technique and when it’s
this good, you know the foundations of everything in the whole sector
are at peak levels.

On The Other Flip-Side Of The Grooming Coin...

Nansen. Yesterday, and we expect exact, if not even better today... Nansen was “Liquid”
Smooth. Not so much as a single snowflake out of place. As one of the Core Group
of Green, Beginner rated Trails, Nansen got yesterday’s un-official “Fine Cruising
of the Day Award”.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
