T360 Middle of the Night Shift Apres Ski @ 2:29 A.M.

It Snowed So Hard At Tremblant Today....

That Photography was, for the vast majority of the day, impossible.

The Snowfall today included all known sizes and shapes of Cold Formed Winter Snow,
but for the vast majority of the day.... was an extremely fine, as in small, particle
that was driven so hard by the wind that it could find it’s way through the smallest
of cracks and in less than a run, even through these tiny cracks, could literally fill
up the inside of your jacket with immense amounts of snow.

It rendered our good Canon Camera into “Default Shut-Down-Safety-Mode” in
less than one run.

Below: Big Gobs Of Flying Snow... plaster camera lens in seconds...

The Very Definition Of: “A Happy Problem At A Ski Resort”!

We love trying to take pictures in Blizzard-like conditions!
Unfortunately, blinding, wind-driven snow is not often “User Friendly”
in that regard, so frequently, you don’t get much more than this,
and it falls way short of the ethereal beauty of this scene above in
real life. A few moments in a place this magnificent with snow swirling
around you in thick waves rekindles your “Winter” Spirit.

We have no idea what the “Official” Snowfall Accumulation total for
the 12th(overnight) will end up being, but we can tell you for a fact
there will be wind induced Drifting way above that.

In the mean-time... The performance over the new snow was fast and smooth.
As the accumulations built up, there began to be tracked up, thicker bits
that were never any problem for Experts, but for Beginners and Intermediates,
by “Last Run” at 3:45 P.M., there was more challenge in the Green and Blue
rated Trails.

Grooming will be the key to User Friendly tomorrow morning in the Greens
and Blues, so we’re positive about that as the Groomers can be seen out on
the slopes all night, so-far.

More in Morning, but... It’s Still Snowing At Tremblant Now.

Another Example Of Extraordinarily Fine Tremblant Grooming

A Case Study Example in Grooming Utility.

We had not been on Ryan Haut for quite some time and after
hearing word that it was Groomed and Very Fine, a visit there
confirmed all that and more.

If you pay close attention to the Trail Edges, you will see the same phenomenon
here as we have pointed out in previous Grooming case studies recently, the
existence of vertical walls of Trail Edge Grooming indicating sufficient snow
to excavate the edges and move that snow into the Trail centre’s for a more
laterally level finished surface.

Tremblant Fans have been blessed this season with a level of Grooming Quality
that is absolutely typical of every recent season, but over a range of Trails
that is unusually large and at an early time in the season that is also unusual.
Additionally, the early and continuing accumulations of natural snowfall have
made it possible to groom some of the less frequently groomed trails more
often and to a greater degree of refinement than could or would normally
take place. Ryan, trail #24, is a prime example.

This descent progression Pic.File was shot on Feb.10th, 2017.
A gorgeous Sunny day and Ryan Haut, upper, Groomed to perfection
as we do not think we found so much as a fallen leaf, or twig anywhere
along it’s immaculate length.

We find it amazing to re-discover new character to some of these Iconic
Tremblant Trails that take on new personality when you can safely
explore the smooth topography at speed instead of it being an intense
Mogul Field that can only be taken slowly without risking life and limb.
We have commented on this similar new excellence on Le Tunnel(#66)
over on Versant Nord, the North Side.

The true significance of this current Grooming status will not be realized
until later on in the Season, towards “Spring”, when there will probably be
a sudden realization on the part of the public that there are some truly
exceptional late season conditions. Tremblant360 Fans are getting that
notice now.

Ryan, as an example of Current Grooming Excellence, is by virtue of that fact,
also one of the best possible reasons to book a Tremblant Visit anytime between
now and the end of the Season.

When Ryan gets Groomed, it might be more normally associated with a single
large snowfall event, i.e., a “Blizzard”, say something along the order of a
40cm’s dump, and even then, it might only be Groomed once. To have Ryan
being regularly Groomed/Maintained is a new benchmark that we can not
be certain of seeing every season, and that makes enjoying it, and all of
Tremblant now, a very compelling motivation for attending as soon and as
often as possible.

There are some saying Ryan is “Best Ever” ??? Debatable?
Maybe, but you can only judge by experience...
so leave home now, if you can...

This Ryan Sample Is Only One of many.
Your Mission is to explore to find them all !!!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
