T360 Apres Ski Edit at Exactly Midnight...
Wow... started out “Yucky”, damp/foggy/damp...
Turned out to be a Sunny and Spring Soft, Super Quick, Mega Carve,
really Excellent Afternoon!
This Pic is a Summary and a Forecast!

Considering all the recent Weather Drama... the thought of “Sunny” this morning
looked like a remote possibility, however at around Noon, there was some
brightening in the sky, and by 2:30 or so, the Sun broke through and from
there on, it looked and seemed like a different day altogether.
2.22.17.Nansen.Great.Snow.Great.Learning.c.jpg
And In The Mean-time... There were Trails Open And Groomed that
did not make it onto the official Open Trail Data...
Le Tunnel... Groomed Again!!! and nicely close to Perfect too!

There were trails Opened, that never made it onto the list.
Le Tunnel was one of them?

The Open Trail List Could Be Changing By The Minute.
Memories Of Yesterday... Which will be here today as well, just on
a temporarily limited basis.
None Of This Will Take Away From The Exceptional Base Coverage
That Has A HUGE Substrate Frost Reserve.(**)
Below: Carving Up the Great, Shred-able, Soft Machine Groomed Surfaces
of Mid-McCulloch yesterday and we feel, soon to return to Open Status.
This Snow has not gone anywhere.

It Could Have Been A Lot Worse(**)... And...
Tremblant Mountain Op’s Are Some Of The Fastest Recovery Specialists
In The Known Ski World.
When Extraordinary Events Occur, Extraordinary Resources Are Deployed.
It does however, take time as one BR350 Grooming Machine can cover
about 4 Acres per/hour, and with a dozen or so machine’s, and 500 Acres
to Re-Groom, the math indicates 20 hours or so to cover the total.
Of Course... Initial work is conducted on the main Trails that support
the majority of descent traffic with an emphasis on Green’s and Blue’s
for “Average” Ski/Board Guest Skill Levels.
More following directly... but looks like a less than Optimal Day....
“First Tracks” Program limited to P’tit Bonheur and Beauchemin Bas, Lower.
That’s actually fine with us because 1) Way better than Closed or No First Tracks,
2) We Gave P’tit Bonheur our very unofficial “Best Carving Snow du Jour Award”
yesterday, so we know for a fact it was in great shape at Last Run, therefore easy
to accept as this mornings "Best Of”.

Conditions Notes:
(**)The Drama Of Immediate Weather Events Freaks Everyone Out...
for a few hours, but then, people who are out on the Slopes actually
realize that, limited as the Open Terrain may be, the Skiing can be
really very good, and the inconvenience temporary. In these circumstances,
once Crews get a handle on the Weather, the Open Trail List can possibly
start jumping way up in numbers. At Least the Gondola is not disabled, so that’s
a great sign the worst is over, or it was a very light event. At 10Lbs.per Gallon,
the weight of frozen rain can be seen as most serious when the Gondola
cars are derailed and stored indoors, but that is not the case this morning as
“First Tracks” is up and running with Gondola from Resort Base.
Weather Notes:
On The Positive Side... It’s Not Raining Anymore, It’s Warm Out!
Forecast Clearing and Sunny Afternoon?!?!?!
Could Actually Be, Possibility Exists For... A Great Afternoon!
Winter “Thaw” Periods are Totally Normal and we always get through them quickly
with the superb efforts of Tremblant Mountain Op’s. Rapid Recovery is right around
the corner within hours, so take a deep breath and with a little patience, we think
the Open Trails will be coming back on line within the day.

Fear Not Tremblant Fans...
Temporary Weather Factors Are A Fact Of Life...
The Measure Of Their Effect Is How Quickly Operations Can Be Normalized
and for that, there are no better Crews in Eastern North America, than
Right Here At Tremblant. Period.

they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
