T360 Apres Midnight Apres Ski Edit at 12:45 A.M.

Today was Fast and Fun, clinically speaking. The fog, rain and lightning
did not do much to help the cosmetic appeal of the day, but as far as a
technical review of the Skiing Quality, none of those other things could
take away from the positive Ski feedback of Expert Skiers coming off the
Mountain, who had to acknowledge that putting aside those “Cosmetic”
considerations, it was actually Very Fine Skiing today.

A warm spell with anything “Wet” in precipitation forecasts worries average
Skiers, but never worries Experienced Experts who all know these conditions
can be not only Fast, but Fun as well.

You Only Needed One Thing To Deal With “Damp” Today...

And... It wasn’t as if the whole day was wet either. There was a substantial part
of the day that was dry...

Every single run on the Groomed array was on Very Fine, High Performance Snow.
The Edge-set, Speed, and Glide were all at Top Level “Spring” and the easy temps
made everything seem much more tolerable.

There may be some Icy bits in the Morning, but we expect that “At The End Of The Day”,
there will be similar, warm, user friendly Snow Surfaces.

Mid-Afternoon Theme du Jour Update:
(Excerpt from Original Post Below...)

"Subject To Change Without Notice”

A Great Concept When You End Up At 94/96 Open Trails!

Noon Hour Update:

The Mountain was briefly closed... lightning. Re-Opened Now
as storm has passed over.

Otherwise...

Morning Skiing Very Fine Spring, initial runs foggy but dry...
“Sprinkles” start and progressively, rain builds to a brief peak,
then... “Boom” Oh, oh... “Thunder” as in Lightning and Thunder.

The way we understand it, the Law Requires Instant Clearing and
Closure of all Lift Operations with Lightning. Of course, regardless
of any Law, hanging off a wire cable between Steel Towers in a
Thunder Storm is not without risk, although believe it or not,
on a previous Lightning occasion many seasons ago, we had
someone ask us: “Why did they close it?” “Sir...” we replied
with a suitable sneer... "Think About It... do you really want
to sit on a Wire Cable between Steel Towers with Lightning?”
"...oh, yeah, I see now.”

Fortunately, then and today... these storms usually pass by very quickly
so today the delay has been just over an hour.

BONUS: Open Trail Count Up To 94(*)!

------------- 11:36 A.M. Update ------------

Lift Operations Re-OPEN @ 11:36 A.M.

Easy, Easy Fun!

“Subject To Change Without Notice” is a commonly used Legal Caveat.
It acknowledges that circumstances, including, but not limited to, unforeseen,
unexpected, unanticipated, not forecast, accidental, and/or acts of Mother
Nature outside of Human Control, can cause Trails to Open or Close.

It’s been a steadily rising “Open” number... so far...

This Is A Totally Normal February Warm Spell... and we’ve got another 2 days
following today that will be very easy Skiing and Very Warm Temps, and quite
possibly “Damp”.

Yesterday was “Fast” and we expect that to repeat today.
What we think is happening is that the hard frost in the
packed substrates has all the reserve refrigerant of the
internal mass of the Mountain and so far, the warm from above
has not been enough to get into anything beyond the top
layers we’re skiing on. We may see some “Pooling” in the
shallow or low contours en-route over the Mountain, but
we think that the vast bulk of falling rain will be shed off
surfaces. Local Creeks and Rivers are going to start flowing
as gravity collects the runoff that you will be able to occasionally
hear and see around the Mountain.

Weather Notes:

Definitely Spring Skiing...

Sorry for late posting today, it’s logistics day,
so chores deferred for days or weeks that got
put off to go Skiing need to be cleared periodically...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
