In an Abundance of Caution, it seems Mountain Crews have derailed the
Gondola Cars for storage.
It may only be a preventative measure to keep the weight of Freezing Rain,
(water in liquid form is 10 Lbs per Gallon, Ice is slightly less), from unduly
straining the Main Cable and/or to facilitate rapid Opening without having
to spend many, many labour hours chipping ice off Doors, Windows and
mechanical systems tomorrow morning, if and when there is clear weather
for Opening.
Tremblant Mountain Crews are some of the fastest reacting professionals
in the Global Ski Resort industry, and they will do everything within their
power to have zero interruptions to Lift function.
All we can do is wait for the morning and keep fingers crossed for luck,
and a way up to the top!

87(*) Open Trails on the Wall-To-Wall, Snow White Slopes of #Tremblant.
If you’re looking for really sweet Skiing/Boarding....
It’s Time To Take-Off For Tremblant!
The “User Friendly” Qualities of Warming Temp’s are going to be
the dominant story for today.
Otherwise, the stability of the Alpine Snow Sports Trail Network
continues on at very high quality coverage. It’s just going to be
a lot easier to use it all...
In an “Ideal” World, the Winter Temps would come in and remain
within a comfortable, stable range that would generate only Snow
and we’d all Ski every day on nothing but snow that was groomed
into a steadily increasing base...
Mother Nature has different ideas though, and in any review of
actual weather experienced, we all know, and have certainly experienced,
the Peaks and Valley’s of Temp Spikes from super-Kool to Soggy Warm.
Anyone here over the recent Kkkool cycle... especially with the wind component
added in, has probably wished for easier temp’s, but these cold sessions are
absolutely necessary in order to prevent any premature loss of Frost in
the Mountain. We think the best way to understand them is to think of them
as “Reset” functions.
Above: This pic is now some 60 hours old, but the reason we’re showing it is to
both remind and impress upon readers, the overwhelmingly positive state of the
Wall-To-Wall, Snow White and Completely Intact, Superlative Base.
Even after some quite warm thaw cycles, the abundant total snow accumulation
has been remarkably resilient throughout, and that is the primary reason there
are 87 Open Trails that are for the most part, in Excellent Condition.
Weather Notes:
2 Part Weather Notes Due to Environment Canada
Weather Warning Attached Below.
Please Note: It seems odd to us that going from -17C to -2C could produce
much Freezing Rain over the cooler Mountain Elevations during Open Hours.
The significance of any Freezing Rain event potential can be evaluated by
Mountain Op’s strategy pertaining to Dismount of Gondola Cars into Covered
Base Station. With the Current “Snow” Icons in the Tremblant Specific Hourly
data, plus those cooler temps up on the Mountain, it seems possible that
Freezing Rain might be restricted to Low Laying Areas.

Short Report Due To Logistics Day Chores...
Every once-in-a-while, even the most dedicated Skiers
have to clear the decks, tidy up, get organized, sort things out...
