The Basics Of Tremblant Today...

Quantity:

Out of the past 16 years, only one year has had more snow
than we've had up to this point right now at Tremblant.

The timing of the seasons snow was fortunately early
for the establishment of the compacted base that
has withstood the various thermal burp’s into the
“+” zone. So, despite the fact that there’s not much
snow in the trees, there are all those retained strata,
accumulated one layer at a time by the tireless work
of Tremblant Mountain Op’s meticulous nightly grooming.
Their excellent work has been the consequent durability
in both coverage and smooth, easily navigable, top layers.

Quality:

No Fancy Action Shot... but everything you need to know about
the most fundamental ingredient of the Tremblant Ski/Board
Surfaces. Light, Dry, Super Fine, Cold-Formed Snow.

The Snow pictured above (sampled from within the Versant Nord,
North Side Lowell Thomas Sector), is a great addition to the entire
array of Groomed Terrain wherever it has settled at appreciable depths.
Where areas were exposed to direct wind, guests will be relying on
Machine groomed surfaces freshly tilled over the pre-existing base.

It has been 9 days since the temps went Sub-Zero, and stayed there,
including this past cold snap, so the Machine Grooming has been a
process of refinement without any burden of recovering newly overnight,
re-froze thaws.

Additionally (a)... we think the aforementioned cold snap has effectively
re-set the frost level back to somewhere around where it might have
been several weeks ago? Of course it’s impossible to know exactly,
but regardless, the benefit is that the stored refrigerant of the Mountains
internal mass has just been rejuvenated to some degree, and that means
even more durability going forward.

Additionally (b)... We think it’s a very good thing that the 2 week
weather forecast shows a below average temp range. If you were
looking for positive co-factors for maintaining Great Snow Conditions
at a Ski Resort for the end of March, this is a good forecast included
in the Weather Notes below. Yes, there are going to be some warm
days coming, but not as warm as average, so less effect than “Spring”
might otherwise generate. We’ll take that...

Page under progressive assembly, but it’s still very much Mid-Winter
at Tremblant. It’s a wonderful sign of the fullness in coverage and quality
that this season has had. The exciting part is that we can look forward
to Great Conditions continuing on for the final official month that’s left.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
