3/19/17 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

94(*) Open Trails On The Hanging On To Winter Slopes Of #Tremblant.

27 hours ago it was -21C at Versant Sud, South Resort Base Level.
At 7A.M. this morning, it was -12C at the same location.

That’s what we call “Hanging on to Winter”.

The benefit is the “Re-set” of the frost into the substrates which
provides tremendous stability to the base over every square metre
and applies to All Skill Levels.

When you add in the “Smooth” part that Mountain Crews provide
with every night shift Grooming cycle, you get the predictably excellent
Trail surfaces that are only possible at this level of coverage with a
near-record, 526cm’s of Season-To-Date Snowfall Accumulation.

Today is the final day of the Ontario Spring Break, so you
can typically look forward to a quiet afternoon as families
hit the road to get back home and get everything ready for
school and work routines.

Look for clearing on Versant Nord, the North Side, first, then
gradually, sometimes not so gradually, on the South.

The Roundabout’s leaving the Mountain will look like NASCAR Race Tracks
from Noon onwards...

Speaking of Ontario Spring Break... We’ve been thinking all along that
this past week has really been like a Micro-Season-Sampler for all those
here for the Holiday. Started out very wintery cool and has progressed right
on up to today’s warmth, so it’s almost like a mini-season in a week, and
for sure, when the Spring Breakers get home to the more Southerly
Flat lands, next weeks gunna seem HOT, back in the city!

In the mean-time, all the regional Locals, and those travellers
fortunate enough to be starting here for the new week, will be
looking forward to the excellent carryover of the winter conditions
and coverage that seems like it will go on with no appreciable loss
on either account, as things return to a normal working week for
the rest of the world.

Weather Notes:

The Most Beautiful Part Of This Forecast...

Low To No Wind!

At these Wind Speed Values, there should be entire sectors that are
wind sheltered and the rising temp’s and gorgeous sunshine will
make it feel like a day at the beach compared to all the recent “Cool”.

The Breezes will be coming up the Mountain over P’tit Bonheur
and moving across the Summit towards Versant Soleil. We think
the absolute sweetest part of day will be from about 1:00 P.M.
onward, just as the crowds start to move off, so for those that
can stay till “Last Run”, it should be quite close to “Heavenly”!

Please Note: Mountain Elevations are typically -4C cooler than
Sud, South Resort Level Base Values Shown Below.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
