Cool, For Sure.
Fast and Fun, For Sure Too!

------- 12:20 P.M. Noon Hour Updates Attached Below.------

Revised to 80(*) Open Trails Data, Via 2 Revisions, included
below. THIS COULD CHANGE AGAIN, Furthermore, on the
Mountain, changes may occur that are not formally reported
but can be seen en-route on descent. The Ski Patrol Reserves
the right to Open or Close Trails without prior notice, and today
seems to be only an “Up” pattern. Have Fun Exploring!

Fresh Powder Is One Thing...

But... Everything we’ve said about the necessity of Edges for both
Fun and Safety on the Groomed Terrain needs to be re-enforced.
This is a critical utility that is a night and day game changer across
the entire spectrum of Mountain User Skill Sets after a significant,
but totally normal Spring Temp swing. There is not all that much ice,
it’s just extremely densely packed snow.

------------- 7:29 A.M. Orig. Post ----------------

73(*) Open Trails on the “Reminiscent Of February” Wintery, “Breezy”, Slopes of #Tremblant.

If you’ve forgotten what February feels like...
Today’s a reminder...

It does not take a Rocket Scientist to see the “Breezes”
in this Web Cam Snap Shot, just before the lifts Open.

Whatever the effects of Cool and Breezy are, in our opinion,
they are temporary. There’s just way too much snow around
to be anything else.

Additionally, we do not think those temporary effects will have
much to do with the technical merit of the Trail Surfaces that
we expect to find in very fine shape.

It’s simply a Mid-Winter day and we’re thankful for any extension
of Winter that facilitates the durability of the Base.

One of the best strategies for either a break from, or
to remain out of the wind is to go to the “Lee Side”,
the side of the Mountain where the orientation is opposite,
or at least not directly facing into the wind. In this case,
we think some of the upper Nord, North side Trails may
enjoy shelter from those pesky breezes and believe it or
not, there will be nuggets of “calm” that occur.

Here is a sample of a trail we think could be added on the Open
List today, that is also a sample of an area that should be quite
nicely sheltered from any frontal wind force.

Mountain Utility Note:

When The Open Trail Count Goes From 95(*) to 73(*)
overnight... and... there’s 10cm’s of New Snow Officially
added to the Season-To-Date Accumulation Total...

There is at least some chance there may be revisions
during the day.

Be Sure to check with Info. Crews Frequently.

Weather Notes:

30 Hours of Cool.

For the next 8 hours, the critical comfort factor
is going to be the wind. Bundle up and you’ll be fine.
Otherwise, any improperly layered overlaps, gaps,
or undone weather seals on your exterior shell are
going to allow cold air migration into your envelop.
This is when attention to little details can make a huge
difference in garment performance.

At these wind speed values, the peak gusts coming up Beauvallon
will periodically seem like a Bowling Ball the size of a Bulldozer rushing
towards the 10 Pin Humans. Those gusts will not seem awesome...
they will be awesome. The Views Will Be Awesome Too!

We Love It! Winter, Winter, Winter!!! All Day Long!

Spring, Sun, Heat, Softness, etc., etc.(**), will all come soon enough...
and it will not be long before we are missing the privilege of the
superb performance that only cryogenic cool snow has.

The Finest Performance Snow is like Champagne...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
