And... Very Definitely, In Performance,
A Very Close Repeat of Yesterday...

The Sun And The Warm Air... combined to quickly thaw
top layers and when they got good and soft, that’s when
the “Jump” turns start happening off the Mogul Launchers!
Versant Soleil Toboggan was as much fun today as it usually
is, but with the extra cushion of soft landings.

Two Days Ago We Reported on Marie-Claude Asselin Bas, Lower, as an anomaly
of Close-To-Perfect, Flat Smoothness, when everything else nearby
had all turned into Moguls. This is the third day MCA has been close to perfect.
We have no idea why this wonderful Trail is not getting more traffic, but
in the mean-time, we have every intention of making the best use of it
ourselves!

Tomorrow: Rainy, Maybe... The Big Rain Icons have been replaced with
Small Rain Icons, which means the active weather will likely pass over
in Bands or Lines which may leave whole portions of the Mountain Dry
for any part of, or possibly even all day.

We Expect Today To Be A Repeat, but with a Very Important Difference...
Greatly increased User-Friendly, Mogul-resistant, Surface Durability due to
two things:

1) The whole Mountain has been Sub-Zero for over 12 hours
and it’s down to -6C at Sud, South Resort Base Level until
almost 8:00 A.M., so Summit Elevations were somewhere
around -10C or so. This Frosty night will act as a “Re-Set” for
base firmness and reduce the speed of Top Layer Softening.

2) Relatively speaking... no traffic. It’s a work-week Monday morning
and all the Weekenders are in a Lineup on the Roads, not the Lifts.

Today’s best conditions are probably going to be between around 10:30
to Last Run, depending on Side and Elevation, where there will be different
rates of softening, especially between the Sud, South and Nord, North
Trail facing orientations that have unique combinations of ambient air temp
Thaw-Rate, or Direct Sun Exposure(S-W), Direct Sun Shading(N-E), or
Traffic Wear Patterns on more popular Trails, Intersections, Run-outs, etc.

-------- Ski/Board Functional Utility --------

Base Wax/Coatings for “Warm” Range Temp’s is highly recommended
in order to maintain “Glide” where the eventual softening will likely produce
friction/drag to variable degrees if the +7C daytime high temp occurs either
sooner, or is exceeded.

-------- Personal Safety Utility ----------

Todays conditions are the kind of exercise that will increase demand as
the Snow Softens, so fatigue limits may be reached more quickly as you
get to the latter portions of the day. We encourage all Tremblant Guests
today to be mindful of stoping or resting BEFORE safety is compromised
by sudden demands beyond personal response capability.

Weather Notes:

This is the kind of day that could see the
Day-time High temp exceeded, so Layers
and Vents are your best friends for comfort.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
