More or Less... A Conditions Repeat of Yesterday.
More Softness... Less Sunshine....
The continued “Saving Grace” is the Natural Speed of the snow.
We thought it would be a busier day than it was. But...
considering how quickly the conditions became more difficult
because of softening snow subjected to Mountain Traffic, we
were glad the light traffic limited the wear factors to the extent
they did.

Hourly Weather forecast, cloud began to fill in the
Sky-Scape shortly after lunch. By 2:00 P.M there
was a definite darkening in the West. Not long after
that... we got dusted by Light Rain coming up the
Duncan Quad.

on Both Sides of the Mountain!
From Day 1 to Day “Final”, Tremblant has had complete Park
Features in place that have remained very well used every single day.
This is the first season we can recall where the permanent Adrenaline Park
at Alpine Bas, Lower, was constructed before Opening Day last November.
If participation/use is any indicator of popularity, then we’d have to say
it’s been a Great Park Season since we’ve never had to wait more than a
few seconds ’til someone comes flying into view, exactly the way we got
top shot here.

Proof Of Snow
The Grass may be Green back in “Yourtown”...
The Brown ground is visible on the Sud, South Side too..
But over on Tremblant’s Nord, North, Summit Lowell Thomas Sector...

Yesterday we wrote the Trail-side Snowpack was up to 100cm’s in places
and that was incorrect.
The Versant Nord, North Side Lowell Thomas Sector
has Trail-side bush Snowpack at OVER 120cm’s.
The scene you see above shows the right 122cm/48”
Ski Pole pushed straight into the snow here and we kept
the handle above the surface so it would be visible.
we were actually able to push that handle below the surface
here by a few cm’s.
The Fact That It Exists Anywhere On The Mountain
In Mid-April At These Depths Is Amazing!
Of Course it’s not like this everywhere. Lower elevations
now have a considerable amount of bare ground showing
and whole sections of trail-side bush have no snow at all, but...
Passionate, Enthusiastic Ski/Board Fans take their Snow wherever
it can be found, and very, very fortunately, the entire Sector
surrounding our “Proof Of Snow” has superb Spring Conditions
in place that are easily going to make it through to "Last Run.”

has been the inherent level of “Speed” you have over the snow.
Moisture saturated Spring Snow can be a wee bit “Sticky” as we
had back a few days(Monday?), but we’ve been impressed with
the natural, low resistance, good glide and sustained speed
we’ve been able to have over the past several days, even with
a lot of ambient heat. For some reason, surfaces have stayed “Fast”
and that makes for much easier applied technique for all Skill Levels
from Beginners to Experts.

A day in the Experts Black Rated Terrain
at Tremblant now will turn Anyones Quad
Muscles into Jello by the end of the day.
Super Soft Bumps make Fall-Line Descents
easy, but take tremendous energy to keep
Pin-Sharp Balance necessary over Skis.
If anything, sitting back a bit over your skis
may allow a bit more forgiveness to compensate
for rapid changes in surface densities through
Bump Lines, but never-the-less, a well balanced
position is essential for safe navigation.

the active weather passes over in bands. The recent “Light” rain icons of
Wed. and Thurs. actually had substantial portions of both those days
that were dry. There was Cloud-fog suspended micro-mist, even some
sleet, but for most of those days... no rain. We think there’s a very good
chance tomorrow will be similar.
