T360 Late Eve. Apres Ski Edit @ 10:25 P.M.
Big Open Terrain News:
Taschereau --- Open!
This Trail has been under construction since just before Opening Day
and the coverage is complete wall-to-wall.
The other obvious thing this Summit Level pic illustrates is the
foggy nature of the Summit that actually did see Snowfall for
the first half of the day. The Snow began to taper off at around
Noon and from that point, it was just fog.
We are processing additional Taschereau pic’s tonight that we’ll have
tomorrow morning.
Oddly enough, at just about 3:30, "Last Run”, the fog cleared off and
almost suddenly, you could catch the view from the Summit from
every direction.
Here’s a sample from the top of Beauvallon at the La Crete intersection.
Slightly even more remarkable, after the fog cleared,Rays Of Sunshine came out,
lighting up the whole South Side... briefly, just as the Sun was getting ready to set.
Relax... You’re At Tremblant!
America, Mexico, Aisa, Europe, U.K, Australia,
and on, and on, and on... There are people from
all over the World at Tremblant right now.
If you are a New Tremblant Guest, you Need To Know...
Tremblant Mountain Info. Ski Crews Are Here For The Express Purpose
Of Assisting You With Your Mountain Ski/Board Experience.
Todays Skiing Was Everything We Expected... as a continuation
of Yesterdays Super-Quick, High Traction, Low Friction, Easy For
All Skill Levels, Wicked Fast Carving Snow. Everything is Fast.
Conditions on the Newly Opened Taschereau were soft snow
of mixed natural and blown sources. The Base is solid underneath,
and there were good, loose top layers that were showing shallow
Moguls that could be used as Jump Turn initiators. We were able
to easily clear every second bump in the air without undo landing
stress, with enough room to chew out a carve for speed control to
the next turn. We will have more on that in the morning.
Additionally, there was unusually good “Glide” in surfaces.
The best example of that was the Mi Chemin Plateau, adjacent
to the Lower Alpine Trail Runout. Normally, shooting off Nansen
to Mi Chemin gets you Glide by gravity to about the mid-point
of the plateau, from where you have to use poles, skate, or if
your on a board, take a foot out.
Not today...
One Shot Off Nansen, and we made it all the way over to the TGV Base!!!
That’s an extraordinary amount of Glide that any Tremblant Regular
will tell you is a relatively rare occasion.
What’s for tomorrow?
Temp’s dropping overnight to about -6C, and Sunny during Open Hours,
but the Sunshine is not supposed to get you much heat, as we may only
see a single degree of rise all day. Tomorrows Quality will be tonights
grooming done during the temp drop. Tremblant Crews are very well
adapted to these fluctuations and should have a good, loose, top layer
for Sunday’s First Tracks.
It’s forecast to start Snowing at 5:00 P.M., and continue for about 6 hours.
Consequently, Monday could be a good one...
We Hope That All Our American Cousins Celebrating Thanksgiving
are having Happy, Safe Travels and Family Time here at Tremblant!
--------------------- 8:21 A.M. Orig. Post --------------------
16(*) Open Trails on the Warmer Sud, South, Nord, North Sides of #Tremblant.
We expect that today may be light traffic due to the weather forecast...
However...
It is currently Snowing at the Summit.
So, Atmospheric Conditions Notwithstanding...
We think all the great performance characteristics of Speed and Edge-Set
that yesterday brought, should still be there today. What that means is
easy surfaces for all Skill Levels as the warmth and humidity create softer
top layers to grip on.
Furthermore, what we think is going to happen is that the frost in the base
is going to stabilize those top layers from the bottom up, and with continued
light traffic and above average number of Open Trails, the low ratio of Skier/Boarder
passage per unit of Square Surface Area will mean Trails stay smooth all day.
With regard to the performance, here are some yesterday review samples that
we’re hoping are going to carry over to today.
The first one is from Versant Nord, the North Side, Beauchemin Bas, Lower,
where we managed to capture this completely descriptive Board Action shot.
You can instantly see and relate to the high performance traction evident in
the dynamic of the snow-flow under the Board’s running edge.
11.24.17.Shred.This.Beauchemin.Bas.Lower.Snowfall.Fast.Fun.c.jpg
The obvious demonstration of Edge-Set you can see above in yesterdays surfaces
was brought to you by a combination of warmer(but still sub-zeroC) temp’s
and natural snowfall that had a bit of wetness acting as a low-friction lubricant.
Some wet snow can be higher friction, but not this stuff, it's Fast!
It’s also important to note that for Beginners and Intermediates this
snowfall made basic sliding, braking and steering efforts easy too.
The low resistance, lubricated effect, just made everything in the way
of basic control movements easy to slip into.
Another positive aspect of yesterdays situation was the total Mountain Coverage
of the new snow that seemed very equally distributed over both open sides.
This “Post Card” Nansen scene was Winter White captivating. Standing there
waiting for people to pass by(to add human-size scale reference), took a little
while, and in that time, the gently falling, big fluffy flakes, lazily drifting down
were almost magically hypnotic in what seemed like a moment of suspended
Tremblant natural beauty.
11.24.17.Nansen.Big.Fat.Fluffy.Fun.Snowfall.Density.Sample.c.jpg
Regardless of what side you Skied, the performance benefits were all there
from top-to-bottom.

Tremblant is a centre of very keen, and highly Skilled Telemark Enthusiasts.
This pic. may be a little fuzzy around the edges, but we decided that
enhances the impression of Speed and Action for those who appreciate
the unique style of this discipline.
No Doubt... Yesterday was Fast for everyone. We hope that continues for today
and we’ll get back to you later on in Apres Ski with all the detail.
Weather Notes:
It’s Fall and we’re very fortunate to have had such a substantial
Head-Start with cool temp’s and snowfall. A very favourable
component of this forecast are the Overnight Sub-Zero Lows,
which at cooler Mountain Elevations should stabilize the Base
and permit the use of the new tech. snowmaking for Open Trail
expansion.

It’s one of those Fall Wild-Card days. Starts out Snowing
at Summit, light off/on drizzle at Sud, South Base, and
who-knows-what for Open Hours.
Two things for sure...
1) At +/- Zero C, it’s comparatively warm out.
2) There Will Be Excellent Skiing and Boarding.
