T360 Mid-Eve Apres Ski Edit @ 9:45 P.M.

You’re Not Dreaming...

You’re Just Having Visions Of Tremblant... again...

There were times, however, when those Visions got “Filtered”...

As you may be able to deduce from the above, swirling Snow
made for challenging photography at times today. The “Kool”
also contributed challenge, so a bit limited with Apres Ski
tonight, but the Story of the Great Skiing at Tremblant is
no less fantastic than we forecast. This is Great, Pure Winter
Snow and the traction for Experts was good everywhere, but
better in some where the wind drifted in a lot above average
over the Mountains Contours, creating back-fills.

The Forecast said “Cloudy With Sunny Breaks”,
which was somewhat accurate...

A couple of “Cloudy With Sunny Breaks” Sample Shots

We had limited time today so we hope to have a more well-rounded
tour tomorrow. Very safe to say though, that while the whole Mountain
did get snow, the Nord, North side, definitely got substantially more.

Practically Speaking... Zero Lift Lines.

Tomorrow... Starts out -17C, sunny and temp’s rising to -11 C,
and all with currently forecast Light West Winds, rising over the
Mountain from Taschereau, crossing the Summit towards the
Lowell Thomas Triple.

There will be quiet, wind sheltered zones that will feel
warm in the sun, if you can find a safe trail-side spot
and the Views and Photography should be spectacular.

A Night-Shift worth of Grooming should see some very
big relief from the thicker bits of today.

There were Expert Powder Lines on the North Today up to the Knee.

There were Immaculate Learning Slopes as smooth as a Golf Fairway.

You Need To Go Now...

Please Note: Deep and Rapid Snowfall Accumulations
can cause difficulty levels to dramatically increase. Default to
Lower Skill Trails for Beginners and Intermediates when in doubt.

and don’t forget...
There has been a steady increase in Open Trails all week.
Here’s a peek at one of our Favourites...

McCulloch’s Opening is typical of almost all of the openings of Groomed
Trails at Tremblant now, in that the standards of surface preparation are
commonly at levels that would be considered “Very Fine” on any Mid-Winter
day. We could get used to this! We run into Tremblant Guests just about every
day who are out for either their first day this season, and in frequent cases,
out for their first day after a few seasons off, and their feedback comments are
all similar... “Hard to believe it’s SO Good!!!”, “Never seen Early Season Conditions
this good”, Wow, It feels like January Out Here!!!”, etc., etc. Take a second look
at the “After” shot above, it could be a shot from any random March 3rd, and it
would appear much the same.

Open Terrain Refinements:

Only One Example:

There are daily refinements in the existing Open Terrain that are
definitely enhancing the already great Skiing and we think one of the
best examples is Versant Nord, North Side Beauchemin Bas, Lower.
We were having so much fun that we were half way down the Newly
Widened portion at the first pitch, adjacent to the Edge Sector Entrance,
before we suddenly realized... “Hey, this place is now as wide, flat and
smooth as I-95 Interstate Highway!!!” Wow, Nice!!! It was great before,
now it’s really great with the fullness/width of somewhere around 40 metres
or so of impeccable smoothness and very high grip traction.

The Bottom Line Is That Tremblant Is An Outstanding Value
For Any Early Season Metrics You Can Apply.

If you can go, every ounce of effort you can make to be here
will be fully justified by the Superior Experience du Jour.

Lord Willing, if we can make it home after the big dump,
a Major Apres Ski Pic.file Report. In the Mean-time, get
your Ducks in a Row for tomorrow Folks...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
