T360 Late Evening Apres Ski Edit, Under Construct @ 11:15 P.M.

We Were Wrong... on one detail, but...
the consequence was not at all negative, just “different”.

We’ll look at a Versant Nord, North Side example “Duncan”.

Duncan has been configured in more of a “Rolling Contour” form
this season. Smooth all the way down, but compared to last seasons
opening at Wide, Flat and Fast, this season is a more “Vintage” feel
as it hugs the dips and crests of the geography, but with all the
modern glitch-free, very refined surface quality Tremblant Guests
benefit from now.

The point we were wrong on was the inherent Forward Resistance, “Friction”,
which we thought would be “Low”, when it was in reality “Medium”.
What we think happened is that the deep overnight lows created a
very very dry Snow crystal that maintained a barbed, ever-so-slight
surface Micro-roughness. You could sense this as just a wee bit of
resistance in the Glide. This was by no means a negative though,
because it allowed you to more directly face the Fall Line on Duncan,
without so much concern for gravity. Once you figured out how to work
with it, no problem at all. Plateau’s required a Skate-Step or two,
but with the overall high levels of Lateral Grip, which were greater
than we expected, the Performance today in overall balance was still
exceptionally fine.

What we’re trying to illustrate with the above is the both the Dryness
and the Micro-Spikey factor of the Natural Snowfall. Due to the gradual
overnight warming trend and additional snowfall forecast, there’s a good
chance tomorrow’s performance characteristics may be completely different.

The Snowmaking Continues... Here’s another noteworthy zone
that will have many regular Tremblant Fans excited....

The entire Expo Peak has various levels of development
going on, including work on Cossak, and Expo itself.

The Weather today was a Moment-By-Moment variable range that
included Snowfall and Sunshine and as you toured around you could
run into almost anything, anywhere as it all passed overhead. The
temps definitely warmed up a LOT, and by mid-afternoon, it became
quite pleasant and we had Gloves off for pic’s without much discomfort
at all. The High temp was at -11C at Sud, South base level. The breeze
was low to moderate, and the rawness that was there periodically
yesterday due to higher winds, was completely gone by Noon.

The Temp’s rise through the night, tonight, and tomorrow is forecast
to end up at around -7C, under a partially sunny sky.

See below for info. on tomorrows big Open Trail Count Increase...
up to 60 !?!?!?! Nice!

A Very Snowy “Thumbs Up”!!!

Thumbs Up is a Universal Symbol recognized by Human Beings
as Positive, for Thousands Of Years. Perhaps one of the best Historical
References is the use of Thumbs Up by Roman Emperors to signify
“Life” to Gladiators in the Colosseum.

In The Case Of Tremblant Today,
There Could Be No Finer Generalization.

It may be “Chilly” out, but that in no way dampens the enthusiasm for
Pure Winter Conditions at Tremblant where the appreciation of such
magnificent Early Season Skiing and Boarding is embraced.

We Are Vey Big Fans Of “The Laws Of Physics”.

They make every dimension of our Winter Alpine Snow Sports
Understandable. In Physics, Wikipedia defines Cryogenics as the
study of the production and behaviour of materials at very low
temperatures. The Mirriam-Webster Dictionary defines it as: Of or
relating to the production of very low temperatures; being or relating
to very low temperatures. Certainly, at 07:00Hrs this A.M. @ -27C,
we can safely say we fit into the definitions of “Cryogenics” study,
as directly applied to Humans and Snow, today.

Clinically Speaking:

What it means for the Humans is... “Bundle Up!”

What it means for the Skiing is... “Fantastic!”

Fortunately, the temps are forecasted to rise substantially during the day
to a far more tolerable -11C, so there will be relief.

Conditions Notes:

Besides the legitimate “Bundle Up” notice...

“Wow” Skiing and Boarding for Every Skill Level.
Fast, Forgiving, Fun, Low Friction, High Grip...
All are attributes that enhance the experience of
every single Mountain Guest today.

On All The Groomed...

Incredibly Easy Learning Surfaces for Beginner's means
all those new motions and new uses of muscle are made
all the more easy when the sliding quality is so low resistance,
but the traction is so positive when you need to put an edge
into position for braking or steering. Couple those ease of
use qualities with the 6 Kilometre length of Nansen, and your
learning curve will shoot up to the sky, just because you can establish
a rhythm that does not get interrupted very two minutes to get back
on a lift.

Same goes for Intermediates. East Coast Skiers and Boarders
frequently have to deal with small local Ski Hills with short
trails and vertical. The rapidly expanding Summit-To-Base
options at Tremblant possess a tremendous variety of descent
combinations that can be utilized to refine and challenge your
techniques over potential Total Daily Verticals that rival any
Mountains on Earth.

Experts can Rip off Black Diamond Laps until they run out of Muscle,
then, find a second wind while cruising any of the Blue’s or Green’s
for a refreshing, relaxing breather.

Attention Hors Piste, Sous Bois, Glade Skiers/Boarders:
AS GOOD AS IT IS, Early Season Hazards may be encountered.
Caution is recommended on all explorations.

It’s going to be an Excellent Day for Everyone at Tremblant.

Snowmaking/New Terrain Development News.

Snowmaking has been Active on Soleil, Trail #41, Toboggan,
and is now Active on Trails #47, Laurentienne, and #43, Tiguidou.

Snowmaking has been Active on Edge Sector Trail #88, Action.

Is it possible, maybe, could be, potentially,
Soleil and Edge Sector Openings on the weekend???

YES !!!! According to the Tremblant.ca Blog.
(Applicable Text Below)

"What a great early season we’re having!

The snow-making temperatures, as well as the significant snowfall
of the last few days, have helped us to offer our skiers more than
45 trails today and up to 60 by the end of the weekend. As of Friday,
don’t miss the opening of the Flying Mile lift and on Saturday, the
opening of the Soleil and Le Edge sides!

Our mountain operations team have been able to deliver exceptional
conditions since the beginning of the season. Their hard work, with the
help of Mother Nature, allows us to offer first tracks skiing a week earlier
than scheduled. Prepare your equipment since this Saturday is when they
start up again! In addition, the skating rink on the chapel grounds will
also open on Saturday.

We’re looking forward to having a holiday season that will rank among
the best in terms of ski terrain!”

The Weather is Kool to be Realistic, but Equally Realistic
are Snow White Winter Skiing and Boarding of Extraordinary
Early Season Conditions.

The Long Term Benefit to both the Alpine Trail Network and Future
Tremblant Trip Planers is the stability of the base that proportionally
increases with Frost into the mass of the Mountain as a Reserve of
Refrigerant.

Every Fraction Of Every Degree Of Stored Cryogenic Force Is An Asset
To The Quality And Durability Of The Entire Season. Period.
