After Eastern North America comes out of a near-record setting
2 week Arctic Deep Freeze, we have a short series of extraordinary
days of which today and tomorrow may represent close to perfectly
Ideal Conditions due to the Refinement of last night and tonight’s
Grooming Shifts.

Any thickness that may have been found in yesterdays Groomed Surfaces
should be reduced almost completely today. That small amount of softness
that may have allowed mogul formations should have a greater density
that effectively holds smoothness all day.

Weather Notes:

Supposed to be Sunny? So far, grey, overcast and with all due respect,
it looks like it could stay the same all day. It just has that “Heavy” look
in the cloud cover.

We spoke of it yesterday, but as it gets closer you can see in the 14 day forecast
above that there are two rain days on Thurs. and Fri. We’re not concerned about
that yet for the same reason its actually Cloudy today when the forecast says Sun.
The Forecast could be wrong... and, in a number of ways that when so close to Zero C,
could actually result in big differences. For one example, at Mountain Elevations the
usually cooler temp’s could possibly even make snow?

Conditions Notes:

On the Groomed... Fantastic.

On the Un-Groomed... Very Good, but with Natural Hazard Cautions.

Anecdotally Speaking, roughly 90% of the trouble we witness with
Conditions is the result of Skiers/Boarders on terrain that exceeds
the users actual Skill Level. You can literally see accidents shaping
up to happen. Loss of control or balance is almost always proceeded
by a few gradually increasing gyrations that compound themselves
beyond recovery. It’s the reason we harp on “Terrain Selection That
Matches Your Actual Skill Level”. This is especially true in the
Un-Groomed now. True Experts will have no problems, but it is
also the responsibility of true Experts to responsibly guide their
Intermediate and Beginner friends away from harm, so please...
“Experts Only” in the Un-Groomed.
