3/28/18 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

87(*) Open Trails on the Newly Snow-Refreshed Slopes of #Tremblant .

If you review yesterdays post, you’ll see we were confident
the overnight weather would produce the forecasted net-effect
snowfall, and by all early, pre-Open indications using the Web-Cams
as diagnostic confirmations, that's exactly what happened.

It all started with the return of the Summit to Zero C and below,
which we first observed at 7:40 P.M. last eve.

From what we could monitor through the night, it got down to -3C,
and there were a couple of cm’s of snowfall which you can see as
accumulations where red circle annotated, below. Those are excellent
signs for this morning as it could have been a lot worse with rain, so
despite the forecast for today of warm and sunny, at least it starts off
with a bit of a cool, snowy cushion to offset this afternoon’s “Spring”.

From The Top, Down...

It Snowed At Tremblant Last Night...

...not a lot, but on March 28th, we’ll take it!

Weather Notes:

For Planning Purposes... Still important to note the long range
14 day forecast that shows a very favourable return to more
winter-like conditions. Excellent potential for the final phase of
the season!

Conditions Notes:

Softening Spring Conditions. There may be variable
natural hazards that are relative to either thawing
or traffic wear, however we are very early in the advent
of spring and there is still an excellent base that is
very well supported by frost in Mountain substrates.

The 89 Open Trail count is largely due to the Edge Sector
being off-line, so it is very safe to say that at this stage,
there is still very little effect from thermal factors of
any kind, as far as groomed trail surfaces are concerned.

Starts “Winter”, blends into “Spring”,
and complete “Fun” the entire time!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
