What Is Important...

-Trail Surfaces Are Spring Excellent.
-So far, it’s Overcast.

Yup, when it’s anywhere close to Zero C, we prefer Overcast
because intense Solar Radiation cooks everything, and what
we really want is all the thaw resistant advantage the Trail
Snow can get.

With Overcast, even a few degrees above Zero in ambient
air temp. can remain thaw neutral on Trail Surfaces, especially
with such a well established, supporting Frost Level of stored
refrigerant below.

In other words, we’re happy the forecast is either delayed or wrong, but...

There are going to be lots and lots of people who will be delighted to
have a day of Classic, Super-Sunny, Super-Shred, Spring Skiing!

Either way, the Skiing today should be all Spring Soft. At the
end of the day what may be important may be the degree of
saturation that may be the consequence of more or less Sunshine.
That variation could effect the dimensions of any saturated
zones, but we do not think think you will find them large
because of both so-far Overcast and Low Wind-speed values.

Weather Notes:

We are adding an additional 12 hours in the Graphic to show
the precipitation component within a bracketed time context
of Open Hours that are forecast to be unaffected.

The Precip. Icons show a Snow-mix at the end of the cycle,
however we wish to point out that this forecast is for Sud,
South Side Resort Base Level and the cooler Summit levels
and Nord, North Side could see this Snow-mix and/or all Snow,
for the entire cycle, or as early as 8:00 P.M. this eve., due to either
the typical -4C Elevation Differential, and/or any lower ambient
air temps in the strata of the Winds Aloft over the Summit.

Two more days of warmer weather, but... with the possibility
that at low, single digit, plus value temp's close to Zero, and
under overcast skies, the Precipitation may be realized as
Snow over Mountain elevations.

Clinically, and Variable Weather Factors Notwithstanding,
the Skiing will be Spring Excellent!

Below: Open Hours, Dry, Warm and practically speaking, Overcast
for the entire day. There were bright spots, and you could occasionally
see splotches of Blue Sky, but as we stated in the original posting, we
were thankful to have an umbrella to keep the Solar Energy off Trail
surfaces that were already getting warmed by ambient Air Temps.

Below: By 8:00 P.M. it was forecasted to be raining, however that did
not happen and with the Temp’s back down to a single degree over Zero C,
Mountain Crews were very busily engaged with Grooming and maintenance.

Below: Temp’s actually up one degree C by 11:00 P.M. and no doubt,
lightly raining. Way, way too many Weather Wild Cards in this situation,
so all we can do is hurry up and wait for the morning, hoping all the while
that the forecast drop in temps overnight may produce the change to snow
the hourly projections show(see Weather Notes above).
