Super Easy Performance...

As Far As The Eye Can See!

There will be spectacular vista views over 360 degrees
of the Tremblant Alpine Snow Sports Trail Network Domain today,
that you will never, ever, forget.
Another magnificent all-Winter day that should see a substantial
rise in daytime temps of 22 C(to end up with a daytime high
temp @ -4C), and as a simply spectacular day of outstanding
High Performance capability across all Skill Level rated terrain .
How can a Beginner have a “High Performance” day, you ask?
Firstly, the concept of high performance is relative. If you are
a never-ever absolute first time Skier or Snowboarder, your
initial days are going to require high levels of personal performance
compared to sitting on the couch, a day at the office, a round
of golf, an afternoon of sailing, doing laps in an Olympic swimming
pool, a few hours in the gym, etc., etc., just because you are
recruiting a whole new set of muscles, in a whole new way,
in order to harness gravity in a way that you have never undertaken
before in your life. Ask anyone who’s done it. You’ll feel the
effects of the relative high personal performance needed just
to get down the “Bunny”(beginner) slopes tonight and tomorrow
morning in a (very good)way that you could not have imagined,
along with what could quite possibly be one of the very best
feelings of accomplishment that you have ever had in your life.
This “Beginner” high performance is arguably a more dramatic
personal experience than what Experts sense, from the POV that
the newness of any such pure and physically demanding exercise
is bound to be, without any previous experience.
As far as anyone else is concerned from beyond that “Beginner”
level, the “High Performance” of today is going to refer to the
ease with which you can apply technique, and the ease with
which you can control forces that are exerted on you by gravity,
speed, centrifugal motion, or momentum for examples, PLUS,
the forces you can generate to offset or implement any of the above.
What this means for Intermediates and Experts is that today specifically
could easily be another day of “Best Of” seasonal conditions, based on
the idea of “Escalating” levels of combined co-factors that can elevate
the subjectively recognized elements of what makes any Ski/Board day
great with dry, light, genuine super cool snow, excellent inherent speed
and easy control.
It’s another day at Tremblant where “Average Is Excellent”.
Within appropriately matched Skill Level to Terrain Ratings,
you simply can not make a bad decision!

March 2019,
In Like A Lion!
In this case, sort of a tamed Lion...
Super Easy Daytime Temps!
72 hours ago the regional outlook:
3.1.19 Updated Forecast Projections For Sustained “Winter”
into the beginning of March.
Weather Notes:
It’s another repeat of a frequent, even routine, pattern of
a lot colder than forecast this morning.
If you scroll back to yesterday’s 24hourly forecast, you’ll see
the overnight low was projected at -18C.
Here’s what we got(##):
So, if the -4C daytime high actually occurs, that’s a 22C spread in temps!
Wow!
Any way you cut it, a 22C change upward, in around 6 hours is
going to make this afternoon seem HOT!
(##)There are “Silver Lining” benefits to all these super-cool overnights.
Firstly, the frost is being driven further into the conical mass of
Mount Tremblant reducing it’s core temperature to lower levels
with every passing night at these minus C numbers, and that
effectively generates a huge block of stored refrigerant that takes
weeks and weeks to bleed off when Mother Nature finally decides
to launch “Spring”.
Secondly, on a daily basis during the initial phases of spring, the
underlaying heavy frost is a stabilizer that prevents whatever thermal
forces of ambient air temperature and solar radiation from penetrating
into the surface of the Trail Network Base to any significant amount,
so the groomed terrain over the Mountain footprint is initially mogul
resistant to those thermal forces, in most cases on an all-day basis.
This ability to retain the very desirable qualities of smoothness in the
groomed terrain can also last for weeks, especially when combined with
overnight sub-zero C’s to reset the process.
Thirdly, the underlaying heavy frost can act as a physical support for
any new snowfall that comes along in the daily cycles of spring where
there may be ambient daytime air temps at or close to Zero C. That
could start to positively effect retained conditions as soon as tomorrow.
Bottom line on this point... There’s not a damn thing we can do about the
weather, so why not learn to appreciate any potentially positive consequences?
