T360 Late Evening Apres Ski Edit Under Construct @ 10:17 P.M.
It’s A Short, Sweet, Summary:
Superlative Skiing, Weather And Views.
3.26.19.Taschereau.Haut.Upper.Shred.This.Snow.Surface.Performance.e.jpg
We don’t quite know how to tell you this,
but if you could have been here today, and
for some reason didn’t make it, you may
have missed the last complete day of “Winter”,
and on top of that, one of the best days of “Winter”.
On A Clear Day, You Can See Forever...
3.26.19.Summit.Sunny.Views.Over.McCulloch.Grand.Manitou.d.jpg
Any Style, Any Skill Level, Any Trail...
3.26.19.TGV.Quad.Views.McCulloch.Summit.Pitch.Telemark.Action.d.jpg
As long as you match your realistic skill level
with the appropriately rated Trail choices,
you can not make a mistake. Exploring new
challenges? Conditions are relatively forgiving,
so it was actually a good day to "Push the envelop”!
3.26.19.TGV.Quad.Views.Over.McCulloch.Race.Prep.Lac.T.d.jpg
Evidently, there’s a big, big competition scheduled and
much of the safety barriers were in place. McCulloch was
still open to the public, and if you scroll back up to the
Telemark pic. above, you can see the snow there definitely
qualifies as “Superlative"
Tomorrow Morning... “Winter” @ -9C
Tomorrow Afternoon... “Spring” @ +5C
...at least that’s the way it looks right now.
There’s some possibility the Mountain will hold
“Winter” in the surfaces all day. There’s just
way too much frost underneath, so we think
the most noticeable part of the “Spring” in
tomorrow will be air temps and some solar
surface softening at Sud, South Base Levels.

Today is going to be a repeat of yesterday's
"Totally Winter”...
Shred This:
3.25.19.Erik.Guay.Sunny.Wind.Washed.Shred.This.Performance.Views.Up.d.jpg
What you are looking at above(as well as the absolutely wonderful
Super-Performance Shred Quality)... is the wind induced, snow-washed
effect of a steady Nor-West wind that is literally going to erase this
Snowboarders tracks within 5 minutes or so, as it pushes snow up
Erik Guay(Trail #12). It appears in this pic. above as the fuzzy
filtered look around the Boarders outstretched hand, as well as
the fuzzy look over both the surface and the tail-wash of the shredded
snow under and behind the Board in its forward motion.
We are running a repeat below, of a Wide-Angle POV from last nights Apres Ski
taken from the same spot for a “Big Picture” reference. In this POV below, you
can see the very fine, as in small, concentrations of snow particles being pushed
up the trail surface, as “Grey Areas”, that almost look like shadows.
3.25.19.Erik.Guay.Sunny.Wind.Washed.Views.Up.c.jpg
Virtually all the Summit Level Versant Sud, South Side facing
groomed trails were getting this “Magic Eraser” treatment as
Mother Nature was definitely sending us an all “Winter” day.
To continue on to the “Over The Top”, net result, complete
wind weather picture, this image below shows how the wind
propelled snow was moving over the apex of the Summit at
the La Crete intersection at the very top of Beauvallon, where
it is also intersecting with Versant Nord, North Side, P’tit Bonheur.
This pic. is technically on P’tit Bonheur, but all 3 trails connect at
this point.
3.25.19.La.Crete.Ptit.Bonheur.Beauvallon.d.jpg
What you see above is the wind coming towards you from over the
top of both Erik Guay and Beauvallon which are adjacent/parallel,
and just off to the left of this shot.
This steady wind is generating what we call “Dessert Sand Waves” of
snow and it clearly shows the very dry nature of the crystals that are
literally being shaped the very same way a dessert wind shapes sand.
This is excellent “Winter” performance snow and we think you’re going
to have it exactly the same today.
It has very low friction and great traction properties over the
existing base. The foreground of the pic above does show the
base and while it may look icy, there is not a single speck of
ice in it here at all, it is simply wind-blasted, super-dense,
ultra-packed, machine groomed trail base and with good
edges, it skis just fine even without a lot of loose top layers.
Of course, within a handful of metres to the right of the above
frame, the trails are in the shelter of the wind and all that snow
is very nicely settling everywhere below the Summit crest.
The pic. below shows the bottom pitch of P’tit Bonheur with a very
obvious demonstration of performance capability over generally greater
Versant Nord, North Side, depths of loose top layers than Versant
Sud, the South Side, simply because this is the side where a lot of
the snow is ending up at.

Here’s another place there’s been a lot of snow end up...
since November!(**)
3.25.19.Nord.North.Marie.Claude.Asselin.Bas.Lower.d.jpg
Other than the wind may be slightly less(bonus!) vigorous, today should
be pretty much an exact duplicate of very easy, glorious, beautiful,
superlative, fantastic, wonderful, thrilling, epic, classic, Tremblant
Ski/Board EXCELLENCE!

Weather Notes:
Will Today/Tomorrow Be The Last Genuine, Pure Winter Days?
The weather forecast certainly indicates that possibility,
however, we’d like to point out that the actual temps
have been ending up lower than long range forecast,
so if that continues to happen at these low, single digit
values currently shown for the weekend, we could end up
with it cool enough to make snow???
Conditions Notes:
As per all contained herein... enjoy it while you can.

All the descriptive words for trying
to convey the quality at Tremblant
right now fall way short of the exhilaration
you actually experience. This is definitely
one of those times in Ski/Board life where
“You Just Have To Be Here”, in order to
comprehend the magnificence of the reality.
(**)No camera on Earth can adequately capture it,
no words can adequately describe it, you just have
to be here, so act accordingly if you can.
