T360 Apres Ski Edit under construction at 8:05 P.M.

Same Temp as yesterday, but completely different otherwise...

The Skiing Is Getting Better By The Hour and It Was Great To Begin With.

It Snow’d and Snow’d and Snow’d in wave-like variable intensity
that occasionally began to look like white-outs.

The Skiing Is Getting Better By The Hour and It Was Great To Begin With.

There were/are considerable differences in the type of snowflakes
falling. For example, at Sud/South Base levels, it was more often
a small, fine, silky particle, while standing at the top of Lowell Thomas
Sector, Rope Tow, it was most often a big, even huge fluffy snowflake,
sometimes as large as the diameter of a Quarter. There were exceptions
to that though, as shown below at Versant Sud/South Mid-Point TGV Quad
Base, where this location was getting the fat flakes for a while too.

Another aspect of todays weather dynamic was what Aircraft Pilots
would call “A Low Ceiling”, in that the Summit was sometimes shrouded
in the very low cloud that was producing the snowfall. Generally,
precipitation falls below the cloud, not in the cloud, so when the “Low Ceiling”
was at the Summit level, what you had up there was foggy, not necessarily
snowing.

Below is a TGV Quad view of McCulloch’s summit level pitch, and on
this run, it was foggy more than snowy, however, there was just enough
“Snowy” everywhere over the course of the entire day, to add a very
functional, high grip, low friction, excellent glide, all snow cushion over
the firm substrates of yesterday.

We would estimate that the new snow may be in the 7 to 10cm’s(?) range
so far, and if the Official record does not show that much, it may not be reflecting
the whole picture as far as where its snowing the most. We forecast a greater
amount of accumulation on the upper Nord/North Sectors and we believe
that was exactly what was happening through open hours we were there for.

The best chance for total integration improvements is the blend that
we think will be the result of Mountain Crews Night Shift, and at 3:35 P.M.
they were ready to start.

Tomorrows weather forecast shows the next round of measurable
snowfall to commence at about 10:00 A.M., continuing through
to about 7:00 P.M., so basically it now looks like a repeat of today.

Mild early Winter temps and more natural snow are just what the
Mountain needs to keep on with the ambitious Opening Terrain
program underway, and maybe, could be, possibly, some chance of...
New Trail Openings as soon as tomorrow morning?

25(*) Open Trails on Sud/South, Nord/North Sectors at #Tremblant.

Here Is The “Short Form” Of What You Need To Know
About Tremblant Today...

Very Fine High Performance Conditions
Across The Entire Array Of Skill Level
Open Terrain.

Yesterday was prime example of how radically improved conditions
can, and do happen at Tremblant overnight. The initial Big Bump
opening of McCulloch had very challenging conditions that were
completely erased overnight by the Grooming process that has
generated true, early, high performance excellence for this trails
Black, Expert rating. Race trainers and recreational Expert Skiers
alike could be observed all day long executing highly technical
performance runs on this local favourite with total and complete
control in its beautifully rendered all-snow base.

Nord/North Side Skiing continues to evolve in all the positive ways
that repeated grooming cycles and Ski/Board traffic help to yield
a “Break-in” phase, particularly regarding the overall reduction in
the initial surface particle sizes. The default over here has been “Smooth”
since the minute it opened, so with that as a elementary component,
it just keeps on getting better.

There are also TON’S of Snowmaking Trail Developments going on,
including an extensive effort in the Nord/North Expo Quad Sector
and Beauchemin Haut, Upper, as well as the very big effort on
Nansen Bas, Lower.

Anyone with concerns regarding the availability of Public trails
for the weekend while the 24 Event is on, should not be
worried about that. There is significant new opening trail
development going on around the clock.

Below is a 2 pic. example of only one of many of the trail
construction efforts currently under way, this one on
Nord/North Beauchemin Haut, Upper, from the Summit
down to the Lowell Thomas Quad Base.

The first POV is from the Summit La Crete.

The second POV is from the P’tit Bonheur Runout to the
Lowell Thomas Quad Base, looking back up at Snowmaking
Big Bumps and Mountain Crews Grooming equipment on
the bottom contours of Beauchemin Haut, Upper. The amount
of snow being “Banked” for this project is immense, and we
would expect from this observational evidence that the finished
quality of Beauchemin Haut, Upper should be to very high standards.
