T360 Apres Ski Late Evening Edit Under Construct at 10:23 P.M.

From Start To Finish, It Was A Quiet Day On The Mountain.

The light traffic and great Winter conditions are main reasons
we call this post-holiday period of the early new year “Value Weeks”.

Here is the start....

The seasonal variations through to the generalized New Year
period inevitably include early signs of winter in what is technically
still late fall, as well as late signs of late fall in what is technically
early winter. If any of that makes sense to you, it is our explanation
of the recent sequence of weather events that can be disruptive
whenever the ambient temperature floats around Zero C at this
time of year.

These are all totally normal gyrations as the new winter evolves
and it is only the passage of time that typically gets us to a stabilized
winter pattern that remains established around the central feature of
sustained, sequential, 24 hour, sub-zero C days.

That appears to be starting now.

Weather Notes:

The Calm After The Storm...

It’s no secret that our favourite weather co-factor is
low wind speed. Any sub-zero C temps are way easier
with low to no wind so we are grateful to see not only
moderate wind to begin with, but reducing wind as
today progresses.

Conditions Notes:

We define “Pure Winter” as a period of sequentially uninterrupted
days of sustained 24hour Sub-Zero C’s. Pure Winter allows Mountain
Crews to focus on refinement and that’s what we think you’re going
to see a lot of in the coming days.

It should be noted that any time period following warm windy weather
can have icy bits during and after the re-freeze, so we need to include
a utility reference to the condition of your Ski or Board edges that
really want to be fresh and sharp to optimize control. The way the
wind whips around the Mountain, the way air flow acts around contours
can generate exposed base substrates and other “Firm” zones, so for
both safety and fun, having tuned gear is essential.

Otherwise, we expect that the most recent snowfall, officially
recorded as 25cm’s in the past 48 hours, should have significantly
enhanced the Sous Bois, Hors Piste, Glades, Bush and Mogul Zones
for all that Expert Level fun you’re looking forward to.

Regional Tremblant Fans:

It’s time to get serious about your regular Ski/Board
attendance planning. The weather appears to be
settling into a more stable winter pattern so you
should be organizing a schedule that works
for your maximized seasons pass utility.

Your assignment is to plan and execute.
Ride-Share, Car-Pool, Co-ordinate, Commit
and build your season into a meaningful
Ski/Board Skills and Experience development
program that you know is one of the very best
components of a healthy life style.

For Long-Distance Tremblant Fans:

If you are from across the “Pond”, the New England USA area,
or any other far-away place, and you are keeping an eye on the
developing conditions here at Tremblant, this is all the very best
news you need to be reassured that the conditions you’re going
to have when you arrive for your annual Tremblant Ski Holiday
are in a first rate state of care and development.

We see nothing but very good news for the foreseeable future.

Every Single Day On The Mountain Is A Precious Thing.

A little planning now can lead to extra time
on the slopes later, so let that be your motivation
to optimize your Ski/Board calendar!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
