What You Need For Today...
The Weather Is The News... again.
We think it’s safe to say, you won’t have any line-ups
this weekend as the forecast is likely to keep many
of the usual Saturday/Sunday group curled up in
front of a warm fireplace watching old movies...
Oh well, at least it’s short, despite the inconvenient
timing, and for those brave enough to be out, the
“Spring-like” conditions should actually be very fine
from a purely mechanical POV. The underlaying frost
in the substrates should be more than capable of
supporting the speed in the top layers, so the real
challenge will simply be staying comfortable under
your Descente Poncho and using your Yellow Lenses
for enhancing contrast in the flat ambient light.
Weather Notes:
If you look back over previous days in this record
(use “Previous Topic” button, tool bar above, right side.),
you will see we have included highlighted and excerpts
from Summit Level forecasting that shows a positive
forecast trend towards post-thermal snowfall. There
are no guarantees, but it is certainly better than a
rain forecast and because it’s short, a quick recovery
afterwards.
Not a damn thing anyone can do about this weather,
but a totally appropriate reminder that Tremblant
Mountain Crews are the masters of quick returns
to quality with overnight grooming, so all we can do
is take a deep breath and press on.
Conditions Notes:
Highly variable and highly unpredictable, as well as
quickly evolving weather factors may influence
Open Terrain in both quantity and Spring-like
performance today.
Clinically speaking, thermally softened trail snow
should actually be very high traction, however the
challenges are most likely to be staying dry and
maintaining safe vision.
Today is the kind of day that could see multiple changes
in the Open Trail status so it is very important to maintain
contact with Tremblant Info.Ski Crews for up-to-the-minute
changes, if necessary, on a run-by-run basis.
