T360 Middle of The Night Shift Apres Ski @ 4:05 A.M..

Every Good Thing We Imagined For Today Became The Actual Experience.

In terms of refinement, applied to the length and breadth
of the groomed array of Trails, it could be argued that today
was a new “Best Of”, at least “So Far”.

The expansion of the Duncan Trail Summit access over the
very top crest continues to be one of most useful single
trail mod’s at Tremblant. Every ride up the Duncan Quad
shows the use of this zone by a wide range of skill levels.

Here is a great close-up of lateral grip edge control on
Versant Soleil Algonquin. This demonstration is about 95%
transferable in exactly the same quality wherever you are
on groomed surfaces.

Within each of the designated Green, Blue, Black trail ratings there
continues to be interconnected versatility and conditions are very forgiving,
especially for those who want to move up the challenge ladder with low risk.

The hourly forecast for Friday shows a very similar sunny, warm to -3C,
and our very favourite Low Wind Speed, so with even more grooming,
another notch up?

Only one way to find out for sure... Be There!

This will give you a pretty good idea about what
you can do all day at Tremblant.

There aren’t many Skiers that can carve the McCulloch Pitch
with this absolute control capability, but if you are one of them,
it is exactly what you can do, not only here, but virtually everywhere
on the groomed inventory, as indicated by Icons on the Official
Trail Status Data included below.

If you have the muscle, if you have the skills, you can pretty
much stand on ‘em sideways all day long.

We’d be willing to make a bet that you’re going to run out of muscle
way before you’re going to run out of Tremblant, but that’s part of the
fun, testing one’s own limits and growing both skills and endurance!

For all our friends on Snowboards, the very high levels of inherent
speed and extended glide in these surfaces means that there are
way less times when you need to pump the board or take a foot out.
If you shoot the exits of many trails or pitches, low friction glide
will carry you a long way when there’s a good chill underneath.

If you’re reading this article because you’re thinking of a spontaneous
Tremblant Ski Escape in the immediate future, take a close look at the
14 day forecast below and plan accordingly.

If you’re reading this article at any future date as part of Time-frame
based Tremblant Ski Holiday research, this is why we refer to this
January to early February period as both “Value Weeks”, and “The
Heart Of Winter”. What you typically get are great scope and refinement
within conditions, low traffic, and genuine, authentic, snow white Winter
weather. This time period is exactly what a Ski Holiday wants to be.(**)

If you’re here now... you’re a genius.

Weather Notes:

The needle on the trusty old analogue Thermometer briefly
touched -25C, just before sunrise, but it’s rising relatively
quickly so none of that is going to impact your day much
beyond 10:00 A.M. or so. The “First Tracks” group are going
need to bundle up, for sure, but by mid-morning, it gets easier
to the point that by after lunch, it’s 20C warmer than First Tracks.

Conditions Notes:

The evolved combination of overnight Cryogenic cold shock to the snow,
together with the grooming Night-Shift has generated the almost completely
universal excellence in surface conditions you see in every photo in this record
today, and the recent past.

This excellence is present across the entire Skill Level rated Alpine Trail
Network that is shown as Groomed. Low friction, extended glide, wall-to-wall
coverage, top-to-bottom consistency, are all benefits as equally applicable to
Beginner Terrain as they are to Expert Terrain and everything between.

In the Sous Bois, Glades, Hors Piste, Moguls, Un-Groomed, the cold
shock has taken all the internal humidity out of the snow pack top
layers and there is a sensation of lightness if you can maintain float
over any untracked descent lines. If you punch through into the deeper
strata, there is more evidence of compressed thickness as the last big
snow came as heavier, higher humidity, and it did compress some of
the lower layers with its own weight.

There is a fair degree of probability that today could
be the new “Best Day Of The Season, So-Far”. As the
stable winter temps remain undisturbed, that “So-Far”
part means that the incremental daily refinements, plus
additional new snowfall will make for newer “Best Of”
potential, so any and all plans you can make to be here
in the near-term should be enthusiastically encouraged.

Page Under Progressive Assembly.

It is the mature heart of winter.
Conditions are being refined and optimized
on a daily basis resulting in escalating
quality upwards. You should be skiing
Tremblant if you can and we’re recommending
you make every effort possible to get here
as soon, and as often as possible.

(**) The “North” Advantage.
For example, by Meteorological statistic Vermont
has only one month per year when the average daily
temperature is below 32F/0C on a 24 hour basis, the
very most basic Mother Nature “permission" for the natural
creation and retention of snow. That is January. By contrast,
and due to its more northerly latitude, Tremblant has 3 months,
December, January and February. If you want to have better
odds of a genuine “Winter” conditions Ski holiday, “North” will
always have an advantage over “South”.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
