Very quick Apres Ski with a couple of today’s pic.samples
to advise all those interested that Tremblant is currently
everything “Winter” wants to be at an Eastern Ski Resort.
This is why you choose Tremblant in February.

You could put in pages and pages of fancy verbiage here,
but the essence is for Beginners through Experts...

Average is Excellent.

This last cool overnight should put some really fine,
fast, and importantly, all day durable, refreshed high
performance into, and across all the Groomed for
tomorrow as well. The Sous Bois continues on at “Great”.

Bottom line...

It’s Winter for at least another day,
so go if you can!

Super Smooth, Super Fast, Super Fun!

This is our most recent file shot for the performance level
we are forecasting you will find on the Groomed trail array
at Tremblant today.

We chose this file shot above, which is now 2 weeks old, because we
want to re-enforce the time span we’ve had these fantastic pure winter
conditions. So not only is it very similar, if not exactly the same as what
we think you’ll find all day at Tremblant today, but it’s been like this for
literally months now.

Oh yeah, it’s kkkool out there, but we can dress for that and the
performance is extraordinary. Regardless of Skill Level, as long as
you choose an appropriately matched terrain challenge for your
actual abilities, you will experience some of the most technically
excellent, highly refined, consistent wall-to-wall, top-to-bottom
groomed Alpine Snow-sports trail surfaces you’ve ever been on.

These conditions make you look good. They are highly forgiving,
so little errors are easily absorbed or corrected, yet they are fast,
so there is excellent low resistance glide and you can very safely
experiment with your own skills development.

Are they perfect? No, the wind has generated some slippery zones
around and over some crests that are almost all just very dense
snow, there are some very infrequent icy bits, but all or any of these
are so small compared to the vast expanses of fabulous fun that
they are inconsequential to the quality of your day. We include these
minor glitch advisories for a) those who think we are too positive or
not realistic enough, b) those who do not have tuned gear and may
consequently notice them to a greater degree.

Of course... having recent well tuned edges is a huge asset. All
control moves are more efficiently initiated and effective with
“Sharp” as opposed to “Dull”, and again, regardless of Skill Level,
being able to input any and all steering and braking force is greatly
facilitated by the critical interface and mechanical advantage that
good edges provide.

Weather Notes:

Huge step forward in user-friendly with half or less fraction
of yesterday’s “Breezy”. There will be calm, wind sheltered areas
today where safely stopping trail-side, with no air movement,
you will be able to feel real, effective solar heat.

It would be very hard to imagine Green terrain more ideally suited
for Beginners and Intermediates to rapidly develop confidence on than
this near-flawlessly smooth trail. We have featured it regularly in recent
times because in our opinion it is underused, under appreciated, and
deserves far higher utilization over All Skill Levels. While it is certainly
very well suited to Alpine Snow Sport entry level skills, we feel it has
development value across all skills because for Experts, it allows you
to work on very fine nuances of edge control, carved steering inputs,
and skate-induced acceleration. This is where you learn how to use
the “Gas Pedal” that a current shaped ski inherently has.

Conditions Notes:

There is a high degree of technical excellence in all Skill Level
rated groomed terrain. Surfaces have very well compacted, low
friction ease, but still retain very fine depths of top layer softness
that are very responsive to edge-set. After the most recent
snow storm of a couple of days ago, the repetitive night-shift
grooming should now have rendered sufficient density to be
mogul resistant. One example we’ll be looking for in that regard
today is Versant Soleil, trail # 40, Franc Sud that is the essential
connector for Beginners to more easily reach the magnificent quality
of trail # 95, Algonquin.

That same recent snow storm has definitely benefitted the Sous Bois,
Glades, Hors Piste trail category. We have great, very positive feedback
from Locals we know who specialize in that terrain and all we get are
big smiles when asking for opinions. We are told by very reliable sources
there are still untracked Sous Bois lines in Versant Nord/North Side and
Edge sectors.

If you looked at our report from yesterday, we showed a trail-side pic.
with a proven powder depth of over 120cms, so those willing to responsibly
explore should still be rewarded with great fun.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
