Today @ Tremblant 11.6.09

Cool temperatures and a fresh dusting of Snow combine to give our Mountain a fresh white blanket today.
Just a "Teaser" for our up-coming season. While we may not be able to keep all of this, as the winter weather patterns settle in, the gaps between the weather cold enough for snow are going to get shorter and shorter until within the next few weeks it will "stick".
This is exactly what needs to happen in order to strip out the ambient summer heat in the Mountain, so we take a lot of comfort in seeing this process occur.
As evident in the following web cam snap shots (Web Cam Snap Shots courtesy of http://www.tremblant.ca), the unique thing about todays coverage is that it is universal over the whole Mountain which is a very good sign. Typically we might only see early season coverages on either side or just on the top, so it's bonus to have such a complete layer over the whole Mountain.

Mid-Day update:
As of 3:30 pm, the temp is at -2c and while there may be a warm blip in the forecast, for a day or two, it is still reassuring to see the long range forecast showing lower than average temps for the next two weeks. This will take us up to season opening anyway and by then there should be lots of blown snow as well.
