76(*) Open Trails on all 4 Sectors at #Tremblant .

--------------- 9:32 A.M Insert Update: ----------------------

REVISED Open Trails to 66(*).

Archived Data Attached Below.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Two Important Theme’s For Today:

1) It’s Active Strategic Asset Management Day.

2) A Four Day Shot Of “Winter” Temps.

This is a file shot sample of a typical scene after a major dump.
Our forecast is that you will be able to find scenes like this within
the quiet 4 corners of Tremblant all day today.

With regard to point 1, that is to say that when there’s
been 31 Official CM’s of fresh snowfall in 30 some-odd
hours and 92 open trails yesterday going to 76 open trails
today, it can only be active, strategic, asset management
day today.

More on that following, but basically, with such an immense
single snowfall event, its an overwhelming physical processing
task to assimilate everything into the base at once.

In other words... Tremblant got dumped on and it gunna
take a day or so to optimize it all.

This is a very “Happy” problem at a Ski Resort, but it’s a
challenge that we respectfully suggest will be met more
quickly here at Tremblant than almost anywhere else you
could find yourself at, because of the decades of generational
experience Tremblant Mountain Crews have built since 1939.

With regard to point 2, review the 14 day long range forecast
component of todays weather notes below shows that we’re
going to have about a 4 day, far more normal(for this date)
span of what would usually be typical temperatures for mid
January. The Mountain needs this for at least 2 main reasons.

The first reason is because frost penetration is an essential
element in building seasonal base durability through the process
of stored refrigerant that gets retained over accumulated time into
the solid mass of the mountain's Pre-Cambrian granite core. When
the sun gets longer and stronger in March, the stored cold underneath
compensates for surface warmth for many, many weeks.

The second reason is because a good shot of cold is one
of the best ways to mitigate the moisture/humidity levels
in the sort-of damp snow that falls at temps just below Zero C.
“Cryogenics” is the study of cold exposure effects on materials,
and in the case of snow, cold shock can effectively “Freeze Dry”
the snow to variable degrees. This helps in reducing or eliminating
sensations of thickness or heaviness in trail surfaces, so we theorize
that lighter, drier feeling snow under skis/boards may become a
beneficial element over the next few days.

Conditions Notes:

To begin with, Mountain Crews ALWAYS prioritize Green rated
trails as Beginners need the greatest amount of support following
massive snow buildups that can generate thick surface conditions.

Intermediates should be cautious on initial explorations. Confirm
safe passage before you go ripping around.

There may be some small icy bits in some substrates as a result
of a rapid drop in temps over the past hours hitting whatever
dampness may have congealed in either concave topographical
spots or breaking over, or just below some crests. If that might
occur... it might be proportional to pitch angle steepness.

Experts... Have fun, but safely.

CONDITIONS CAVEAT:

It is critical that all Tremblant Guests consult with “Info.Ski” team
members(identified by their distinctive Yellow uniforms with the
giant “?” on the back), for guidance in these circumstances.
Beginners absolutely need to steered in the right, SAFE direction.

The “Open Trail List” is in what we call a “Dynamic” state where
you can see not only the trails being processed, but there are
almost certain probabilities that the list could have changes
made for up or down open trails during open hours. Info.Ski
Crews are “Radio Controlled” with direct contact to the very
latest updates by the minute for additions/deletions. When
combined with the depth their individual expertise from years
of Tremblant experience, there is no better resource available
to help you maximize fun and safety.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
