Here’s What You Get, 2 Parts:
1) All The Benefits Of The Night-Shift...
This is exactly what you want to see at the sun rises. Mountain Crews are putting
the finishing touches on the array of groomed trails shown on the Official PDF.
below. The net result here should be the extraordinary refinement that typically
evolves from many, many consecutive days of 24hr. well below Zero C temps,
together with multiple snowfall accumulations. The light, very dry snow of the
recent super-cool storm cycles has been meticulously integrated and this morning
a very lucky group of Ski and Board enthusiasts get an immense abundance of
these utility benefits that should last all day long.

2) It’s Still Snowing...
Even if it is a bit of a blustery wind, at least compared to
the recent mid -20 C sunrises, it’s quite mild at -4 C,
so the breezes will seem just inconvenient as opposed
to wind-chill dangerous. One potential bonus, maybe,
is the “Drift-In” factor. The wind is currently indicated
as from the North, so there could be some interesting
Sous Bois/Glade, Hors Piste conditions in the the Edge
Sector, upper Versant Nord/North Side Lowell Thomas
Sector, as well as over on the Soleil Sector. As mentioned
above, there is a significant degree of “Maybe” that we
would attach to variable rates of snowfall combined with
variable rates of swirling wind, combined with topographical
contours that could produce some neat Lee-side favour.
Weather Notes:
Day 2 of 2:
February Outlook Factors:
Conditions Notes:
Fabulous. The current string of pure winter days without any
thermal intrusions, with lots of fresh snowfall, with many, many
sequential night-shifts of grooming, should all be combining
to produce some really spectacular conditions across all groomed
Skill Levels. Oh, the wind may expose the odd slick or icy bit, maybe,
but by comparison to the vast majority of super-fine trail surfaces,
they should be tiny wee small bits that you may never even know
exist.
In the Sous Bois, Glades, Hors Piste, Un-Groomed categories,
more snow with more drifting typically means more fun and
more reliability in conditions as the base builds depth to
mid-winter maturity.
