Conditions Notes:

With this combination of sun, temperature and light Nor-West wind direction,
the lower portions of the Versant Sud/South Side and the Soleil Sector
trail networks may see variable degrees of surface softening between
roughly 11:00 A.M. and Last Run.

The Skiing experience today should be nothing other than fabulous. Period.

These are the uniquely excellent conditions resulting from just a touch
of atmospheric warmth over a well chilled base, so the warm component
will be very effectively blocked from any significant penetration by the
frost barrier held within top surface layers(the recent -30C overnight
chills have not gone anywhere yet). The total performance is enhanced
by the thin, top layer of very grippy soft snow that should be capable
of holding tremendous lateral turning energy from any carved edge-set.

The wonderful performance on the groomed should extend across
all Skill Level rated terrain, so Beginners and Intermediates should
find very high levels of forgiveness in surfaces that quickly absorb
little errors without harsh rebound.

In the Sous Bois, Glades, Hors Piste, and other Un-Groomed categories,
it is still a more individual a la Carte scenario. When you look at the
trail closures from the previous 99 Open Trails, it is largely this group
that are effected, so evidently the Ski Patrol has deemed some zones
as not up to safe standards temporarily. It is possible there could
could be revised/reopened trails during open hours today.

In any event, we would expect that situation to resolve fairly quickly
though because there is snowfall currently shown for the next 3 days
of the 14 day weather forecast and that is usually a good sign for the
snowpack quality in the bush.

------------- 3:21 P.M. Insert Update: ---------------------

Todays Sud/South Resort Base Level temp rose to + 5 C ,
or 4 degrees over the forecast high value, so virtually the
entire Mountain will have had a short heat zap exposure,
however, to the utility benefit of guests, the cooler Mountain
Elevations were greater than the normal -4C spread by a degree
to -5C. This will play a part in tomorrows quality as the Summit
did not go above Zero C all day. It could have been worse, but
staying at zero should have helped in the prevention of potential
thaw generated saturation.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
