Winter Refined.

Below is a very important repeat from last night’s
insert into the daily report because of the significance
it holds for the excellence we think you’ll find in todays
Ski/Board conditions.

The desert sand-like waves in the new natural snow that
can be seen in the lower left of the frame tell you a lot
about the dryness and small, fine, crystalline structure
in the new snow that when blended into the groomed
trail surfaces for today, should render out some really
superb performance.

Additionally(a), this is Day-2 of a 24hr. sub-zero C continuous
daily cycle, so the base has been well stabilized before last night’s
grooming shift and even if no other snow had fallen, the grooming
would have gotten deeper into the firm substates for the higher
level of refinement that comes with increased depths of skiable
top layers with succeeding nightly grooming.

Additionally(b), the potential of a “Freeze-Dry” effect that seems
to improve crystalline consistency within the pre-existing top
layers that were subjected to previous heat, is substantial due to
the combination of wind velocity and low temperature. As another
element of the groomed, blended, trail surfaces this morning,
there are even more reasons to expect synergistic elevations of
quality within the total package.

Weather Notes:

This is an outstanding outlook for genuine winter
consistency over the foreseeable future.

“White Christmas”? No problem.
Great Skiing?, No problem.

Conditions Notes:

Great to begin with, and getting better every day. This
is applicable across all Skill Level rated terrain.

We know the legitimate Experts are waiting for this...

Just a reminder that it is December 19, not January 19,
so the availability of Sous Bois/Hors Piste is not yet
there, but it is certainly on the way and if the current
forecast holds true, it may be here sooner that you think,
so we’ll all be keeping an eye out for additional openings.

In that regard, back when Versant Nord/North Side
trails Banzai and Marie-Claude Asselin initially opened,
we said at the time... “enjoy them while you can” because
they are only natural snow trails and initial traffic wear
can use them up and close them relatively quickly. Evidently
that happened, so now, as an indication of building Sous Bois
potential, when those two tell-tale trails re-open, you may also
begin to see some Expert level Sous Bois zones begin to
be Officially available.

Additional Insert Notes:
Wow, after writing early this morning about
Versant Nord/North Side Banzai and
Marie-Claude Asselin, look what shows
up on the “Revised” Open Trail list...
What a coincidence, or an educated guess?
Either way, we think there may be some
Sous Bois openings not too far off?

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
