T360 Apres Midnight Apres Ski Quicky Edit @ 12.57 A.M.
Not as sunny as yesterday, and even though
it was technically warmer, the breezes kept
a cool feel to it all, however, that did not take
anything away from the fact that it was...
One Of The Top High Performance
Front-Side Carving Days The Season.
2.1.22.Beauvallon.Haut.Upper.Views.Over.Lac.T.d.jpg
Basically, we got all the performance advantages we
anticipated for today and the range of feedback we
got from local friends that spaned experience from
Vertige to P’tit Bonheur were unanimous in positive
praise for superb groomed quality. This was completely
consistent with our own review. The scope of universal
performance across all skill level groomed terrain is
quite simply a joy.
If there is any way you can go, don’t waist a second
debating, just toss your gear in the vehicle and head
out as soon as you can.

Welcome To February,

Across the entire range of groomed terrain,
Fabulous Conditions That
Make You Look Good!
Weather Notes:
For a classic Tremblant winter day, the hourly
profile you see below could be considered as
a very good candidate for “Ideal”.
Crisp morning temp for well chilled snow,
rising temps for easy all-day outdoor activity
with a pure sunny outlook, plus an overnight
snowfall for Mountain conditions renewal under
close to perfect natural snowmaking temp range.
This one’s got it all...

February 1, 2022 - Additional Updated Weather Factors:
Less of a “Wild Card” and more certain of “Big Snow”!
Conditions Notes:
Across all groomed skill level rated terrain...
Wonderful, Spectacular, Superb, Fast, Smooth, And FUN!
1.31.22.McCulloch.Summit.Pitch.Performace.Quality.c.jpg
When you can watch people carving the entire
McCulloch Summit pitch, you KNOW everything
else groomed is good to go!
In the Sous Bois/Hors Piste and Un-Groomed categories
it is a far more a' la Carte scenario. Steady traffic since
the last major snowfall has generated wear patterns that
are well established and require cautious speeds for safe
navigation if you want to avoid natural hazards in the low
points. The challenge in that regard is the lack of advance
visibility because of the mogul wall height and steepness.
If you’re not going slow enough to make instant avoidance
manoeuvres, too much momentum can put you into high risk.
The Ski Patrol have hand posted these zones, so take them
seriously and be aware that legitimate Expert skills are required
wherever these signs have been placed.
What we want to focus on today is the versatility in the groomed
array that has multi skill level applicability. Below is an Expert
level air-turn on the McCulloch Summit pitch. The combination
of beautifully smooth contours and the natural speed of the
pitch angle make this instantly possible on every turn in SL mode.
1.31.22.McCulloch.Air.Turn.Performance.Sample.d.jpg
What you may find hard to believe is that the same type of
air-turn performance was similarly available through the centre
section of Versant Soleil Algonquin, a “Green” rated level trail.
Yup... in GS mode, you can safely do exactly the same thing
in many of the groomed trails when there is no one else in sight,
which is most of the time during a mid-week work-day, just like
today. That’s a great example of “versatility”.
1.31.22.Snow.Sufrace.Detail.Sample.Summit.McCulloch.Ent.b.jpg
Above:
The snow surfaces are all composed of very light, dry and
fine sized particles. Any little clumps you see are also light,
dry and extremely fragile, they are the consequence of traffic
shredding up the top layers and they break up on contact and
you can not feel them underfoot at all. There is very good speed
and glide with completely reliable traction. We expect the same
today, with maybe even more traction on pitches as a result of
temps up to -6C with just a touch of solar energy enhancing
soft, grippy performance.

you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
