91(*) Open Trails

Extraordinarily Fine Conditions For Any April 10.

And Here Is The Primary Reason Why....

T360 Proof Of Snow

Above:
The ski you see vertically set into the snow could have
been pushed below visible sight except that the bindings
and ski break assemblies were jamb’d up by heavy, thick
snow, so we don’t actually know the real Sous Bois depth
here. It’s well over 160 cm’s though, so as we head into the
last week of the season there is still an extraordinary level
of reserve.

In past years we have occasionally had bare ground in this
location, on this date, so from the extreme of that perspective,
this is an impressive, and well above average record.

Depending on what happens with the “Mixed Precipitation”
icons in the hourly forecast for today, and if the long range
weather forecast for the last week of the Official season is
correct, this might be the last fresh snow “Proof Of Snow” we
file for this season. It’s just at that stage where the inevitable
rotation of the Earth’s axis is bringing all the solar energy and
ambient temperature rises together for the serious advance of
spring when things begin to get clinically “Hot”.

Despite the odd warm/wet cycles, what we have as
foundation is 551 cm’s of seasonally accumulated
snowfall today, compared to the 353 cm’s we had a
year ago today, and that 200 cm’s is making for a
spectacular difference in both the degrees of coverage
as well as the finished, durable quality we have the
privilege of accessing daily.

Keeping in mind that:

A) there’s nothing anyone can do about the weather, and...

B) regardless of snowfall totals, there are always excellent
Spring conditions,

the difference for this year is only in how much, and the
larger extent of the coverage, so that fabulous degree of
abundance in both considerations is where we focus our
sincere appreciation in this moment.

Weather Notes:

One of todays best weather assets is the functional
utility of a “hard freeze”, overnight which we think
will be an excellent reset for the stability of the base,
and the absolute return of speed over groomed surfaces
for tomorrow. The wet snow is way better than if it had
rained, of course, but the dampness has meant a wee
bit of drag, so this sub-zero C cycle coming up tonight
should fix that.

Mistaken Identity ???

January 9, February 9, March 9... ??? But April 9 ???

Look left...

Look right....

Look straight up the middle...

This real, authentic, genuine April 9 pic. could easily be
re-dated for any of the previous 3 months and be totally believable...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
