T360 Evening Apres Ski Edit, Under Construct At 9:42 P.M.

Genuine, Authentic, Spring Skiing/Boarding.

"Warm Spring", so a wee bit thick, but no so thick that it wasn’t still fun.

It was almost “Goldilocks” Spring snow, not too soft, certainly not too firm,
considering the heat, not too slow, still reasonably fast, although within
any specific April 11 records in this archive, speed commensurate with
what we’d call average. There were actually “fast tracks” in some areas
where traffic had concentrated, creating narrow descent lines that were
basically straight-lined traverses through thicker zones.

The really big asset is the coverage.

There’s still wall-to-wall coverage almost everywhere with only
the very odd bare spot visible on some of the excavated trailsides
berms that are directly afternoon sun-facing. Otherwise, if you
did not know how warm it is, you could believe the bush coverage
pic’s are from February.

There’s a bad news/good news story tonight in that it is raining now,
however it is supposed to clear up near sunrise and be a near ideal
sunny, if not a bit on the warm side with a high temp forecast at +11C.

Wax your skis/board for warm temp range snow, and don’t forget
your sunscreen...

All Of Super Soft Spring Spectacular...

Until Today’s Sub-Zero C Winter Speed Reset?

Almost... Until you realize there’s an unusual, irregular,
+8 C Temperature inversion from Sud/South Base to Summit???

Anything Goes....

Wow, with a temp inversion that has well below Zero C
at the base, and well above Zero C at the Summit, almost
anything is possible in the middle, at least to begin with.

That will all change shortly, and with any luck we’ll see
a reversion in the inversion as the daytime thermals mix
up the air strata. The end result though, should be all
spring warm by about 10:30 A.M., from which point
forward increasing softness becomes more widespread.

Weather Notes:

This graphic below would lead you to believe
there’s going to be a winter froze reset, until
you realize there’s a most unusual degree of
temperature inversion where the Summit is way
warmer? We’ll have a graphic closer to Open Hours
after 8:30, but so far it’s -5C at Base and +3 C
at Summit ???

Temperature Inversion To +8 C Warmer Summit???

Wow...

Please Note: There are several vertical white lines in the trees
towards the centre portion of the Summit scanning POV below.
If you look again at “The Colours Of Fun” pic at above, you will
see those vertical lines of snow in the trees in detail. This is proof
that there has been very little thermal intrusion at the Summit, until
now, as any significant heat melts tree snow immediately. The point
is, the trails below have also had very little recent heat exposure
so with the added support of the frost from the mass of the Mountain
underneath, we hope the speed will be retained without undo friction
for at least today.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
