All Of This Performance Quality, But The Sunny Is “Iffy"...

The entire array of freshly groomed trails continue to
exhibit remarkably durable all-day mogul resistance
due to the universal support of well frosted base
substrates that have not been touched or affected by
heat, yet.

This resiliency has meant that the sequential days
have all had this consistent level of performance
despite some fairly significant mid-day warmths.

Weather Notes:

There is a small but statistically possible chance that
at these temps, if there is a return to normal temp
spreads, cooler Mountain elevations could maybe see
snowfall instead of rainy. We could be wrong, or it could
switch up/down without notice. Temp inversions usually
revert during mid mornings.

--------- 4:57 P.M. Weather Insert Update: -------------

Very interesting... at 4:45 P.M. the Old Village Of Mt. Tremblant
has been subjected to multiple, close at hand, major lightning strikes
and huge, window rattling thunder booms reverberating through the
base level valleys, as it concurrently began to rain. A bit spooky. There
are still 3 hours of daylight, so the brightness of the lightning is a
surprisingly sharp flash of contrast. We may loose electrical power
if the lightning effects Hydro infrastructure. Good thing we’re not on
a chair lift....

Please Note Below:

It is our policy to include all weather alerts as they are
published. Normally rainfall would not require an alert,
however it does today because of the large amounts
that could cause ground level flooding.

Conditions Notes:

Wow, talk about “Wild Cards” !!!

Today is full of potential Wild Cards. Extremes of utility
ease or inconvenience are all within the realm of possibility.

It all starts with this:

The groomed trails should be fine. This weather forecast will
likely keep the traffic very, very light, so there may be minimal
wear stress on the fresh corduroy. We actually think you’ll be
able to find fresh corduroy right on up to Last Run.

The Sous Bois is a whole different, and far more individualistic
a la Carte scenario, however...

The top layers are not froze, so we do expect the “Progressive” status
labels to switch off at some early point???

For Example(a):

We can tell you for a fact, Trail # 80, “Windigo” Sous Bois Zone
is not on progressive due to low or marginal snow depths.

Windigo is very mogul-friendly as rated by legitimate Expert
skiers who found surprising amounts of depth in the
coverage yesterday. That should completely extend to
today without any exception.

For Example(b):

Expo, Trail # 82, is not on progressive due to low or marginal snow depths,
however it does have some unique utility issues we discuss below.

In a specific case study of Expo, there’s tons of snow on it,
but it’s been a while since the centre was winch groomed
and it has developed some irregular bump contours as a
result of board/ski traffic side-slide-shaving the centres
down to the raw solid base. This has generated icy centres
between very big, and very randomly spaced bumps.

We would have to say that this is the consequence of inadequate
lower skill levels on a legitimate Experts Only trail. The random
irregularities have made it difficult for real Expo Experts to find any
sense of descent rhythm. Anyone riding up the Expo Quad can see
there are unfortunately quite a few folks out on it that are just trying
to survive and clearly do not have the skills to do anything but scrape
their way down sideways.

For Example(c):

In the mean-time, down the street, and around the corner... so-to-speak,

Versant Nord/North Side Trail # 78, Fuddle Duddle Haut/Upper, has
some of the very best, user-friendly, close to perfectly spaced and
totally soft spring jump bumps where there’s nothing but all-day fun.

Conditions Summary:

The highest degrees of forgiveness and cross-applicable skill
level adaptability are in the groomed, where there is still very
close to full winter coverage and the very cool stability of the
base across virtually the entire array of open terrain.

The highest degrees of unique challenge are in the Sous Bois
Hors Piste and Un-Groomed where it is essential to match
legitimate skills with appropriate open terrain.
