9(*) Open Trails(potentially), With Mountain Op’s TEMPORARILY ON HOLD, Due To Severe Adverse Weather
Including, But Not Limited To, Wind Gust Velocities In Excess Of 100 KMPH.
Please Note: The peak wind gust velocities indicated in the
hourly forecast data are for Sud/South Base Levels and DO NOT
reflect what could be substantially greater speeds over the
Mountain peak. We estimate that Summit wind gusts may be
as much as 30 to 40% above ground levels.

REVISED Open Trails To 0(*). The Mountain Has Been Closed
For Today Due To Adverse Weather And The Consequent
Operational And Safety Issues.

The Weather Is The News.
Over 300 MILLION North American Residents Affected By This Storm System.
Thousands of flights cancelled, roads closed, buses, trains
and many forms of public transit access CLOSED
When the American President interrupts Broadcast Television to come
on with a special Adverse Winter Weather Alert and says “Watch Out” ,
“This Is Serious”, you know it’s a really big deal.
And If/When It Opens, You’ll Want To Talk To These Folks...

Weather Notes:
Regardless of Operational Status,
and in-so-far-as snowfall is concerned...
We are fairly confident that at the forecast Sud/South Base
levels indicated in the hourly graphics below, that at cooler
Mountain elevations the precipitation has a very good chance
of being all snowfall. It may be heavy, wet snow, but even then
that would not be a bad thing in this case because it may have
a high degree of adhesive bond from internal dampness that
will enhance the retained deposit, and maybe, hopefully, possibly,
prevent the extreme wind gusts from blowing as much away.
------ Environment Canada Winter Storm Warning ----------
--------- Supplementary Storm Forecast Detail -------------
Conditions Notes:
Heavy, thickly falling, rapidly building snowfall
accumulations favour Expert Skills.
It will be necessary to default to lesser challenge
until safe passage can be verified.
Consult with Tremblant Info.Ski Crews and/or any
designated Mountain Op’s/Customer Service staff
for up-to-the-minute, on-the-spot updates.
The initial basic outlook indicated by the “H”, i.e. Hold
designations, appears to indicate primary use of
the Expo Quad serviced sector.

Regardless of today’s operational considerations...
If the Mountain gets between 50 to 70 cm’s in
one winter storm/snowfall event, it will change
the outlook favourably for the entire season,
so this has a very high probability of ultimately
being incredibly beneficial for BOTH the immediate
and long term elevation of ski conditions.
