Whatever mixed precipitation may have been indicated
in the early morning forecast, just did not happen during
open hours and the weather was fabulous blue sky with
fluffy clouds all day.

On top of all the beauty, we got pretty much the entire
performance envelop we expected. If anything, there
was less in the way of traffic evolved bumpy bits in the
groomed than we thought there might be. There was a
major difference in the open trail list. Expo Haut/Upper
was not finished and not open, it does have a few passes
of very rudimentary grooming cuts, so maybe tomorrow?
Maybe not?

For a weekend Saturday, it was much less crowded than
we thought and using the singles lines, the longest wait
we had was under 7 minutes, average about 3 with even
the odd ski-right-on.

It may be similarly busy for the morning tomorrow,
however we think there’s a good chance of the somewhat
typical Sunday afternoon where there’s a mad dash for
“Theirville" just after lunch.

The big story today... A Whole Lot More Of Grooming Refinement.

Today is day 3 after a major snowfall and as such, we expect
to see a substantial increase in the rates of compaction over
the entire range of freshly groomed trails. The reduction of
loft in the top layers should go a long way towards all-day
stability in the level smoothness of the base, with one caveat...

It is a mild, beautiful, Mid-Winter Saturday and it could be busy.

Weather Notes:

Fortunately, the iffy/freezy rainy bits all seem to be very early
so we think there’s a high probability of all that being a non-event
over Mountain elevations, hopefully/possibly.

Conditions Notes:

First Tracks should be extraordinarily fine across all groomed.

The durability of mogul resistance will likely be in direct
proportion to traffic volume and pitch angle so you will
need to be ready for a large potential evolution over the
course of the day, especially in the Blue/Intermediate and
Black/Expert terrain.

Due to wind velocities at the time of the snowfall, there
may be the odd icy bit at or just below some crests leading
to steeper pitches, maybe.

There are 2 main possible wild cards in attendance volume today.
The first is that today is not included in the discount bundle lift pass,
and the second is the inclusion of a freezing rainy weather forecast
component. We would respectfully suggest that while anything is
possible at ground/base levels, up on the cooler Mountain elevations,
we think there is a far greater probability of all precip. being snowfall,
however whenever the hourly temp models show close to, or at Zero C,
we could be wrong.

Please Note: Depending on the density, duration, form and humidity
of any or all precipitation, vision may be a functional safety issue.
Yellow or amber goggle lens are recommended for restoration
of contrast if any equivalent of “foggy” or “misty” is present.
