Another great day at Tremblant, Friends, Family, Super early season conditions...
it does not get much better than this.

Just to start off with... 35 runs open this morning with the promise
of more on the way... up to 50, within the next few days. The big
announcement in this package is the season opening of Le Soleil
with 6 runs available for your Alpine Skiing experience!
Of course, the big snowfall we're predicting(see yesterdays conditions
report for Powder Alert), is going to help out a whole lot, so we could
have even more if things go well.
What kind of Christmas Present is Mother Nature sending us?
...Stay tuned here for that as we follow the Snow Storm track we
expect to hit here on Boxing day....
In the mean-time, we are experiencing a warming trend in the weather
today that will have our base temp's rise to around -3C or 27F. This
represents a substantial increase from the -20'sC we've had for the past
while and it will come as a relief to many who like their conditions a little
on the warmer side. It will be much easier for Mum's and Dad's to keep
little fingers and feet warm and guests that have come North for a White
Christmas from Southern climates will have less difficulty coping.
(an aside note: We can be thankful for all the cold we've had in the recent
past though, because this has gone a long way towards catching up to
where we should be in terms of getting the frost into the Mountain.
The ability of the Mountain to retain Snow, particularly at the end of
the season is somewhat dependent on how deep the frost is into the
Mountain. A deep frost acts as a "Cold Storage" mechanism that prevents
early thaw, in the sense that if the Mountain can stay cold enough internally,
it can withstand quite a bit of spring warmth before surface quality suffers.)
