Tremblant Factoid:

This Is Currently/Already The 25 Year Historic # 3 Season
In Total Snowfall Accumulation, And We Still Have 5.5 weeks
of more snow to go.

Stat’s Review:

Winter 2007/2008 @ 600cm’s Total.
Winter 2018/2019 @ 615cm’s Total.
Winter 2022/2023 @ 562cm’s So Far.
Winter 2017/2018 @ 557cm’s Total.

25 Year Seasonal Average Total @ 430cm’s.

For The Opportunity This Represents, You Should
Be Motivated To Get To Tremblant A.S.A.P.

It should also be noted that ANY day on the Open Mountain
is going to be a great day, but when there’s this much snow,
the difference is the vast scope of coverage quality.

Weather Notes:

Please see our “On The Line” weather notes from yesterday.
Comments applicable to repeat for today.

Conditions Notes:

Great news in the Groomed.

Considering some of recent the closeness to
Zero C, plus the last +7 C temp cycle, there
was still a very effective cold reserve in the
trail base that kept the winter-like surface
performance totally intact and there were/are
much less in the way of icy bits than might have
been expected.

Excellent work by Tremblant Mountain Op’s. Period.

We expect that for today, the very fine quality should
be incrementally upgraded due to this being “day-2”
of a complete sub-zero temp cycle, so we are forecasting
another day of very fine winter-like performance, but with
a higher degree of refinement that comes from a second
grooming pass over the stable base.

To be totally objective and so we will not be accused
of being unrealistic...

There are some odd, as in very few, icy bits where
recent wind-driven exposures have generated slick
spots. Typically these are at or just below crests,
in some high traffic traversed trail centres or
intersections. They are very small and they do not
in any way detract from the overall excellence in
the groomed surfaces, but they are there. Here is
a sample below. If you look very closely at the
foreground, you can see cleat tread marks from
grooming that traffic has exposed. In relation to
the very, very small size of this literal spot, the
rest of the 99.99999% of this trail is quite near
flawless, as usual.

Another example of a very small zone of icy bits was
the down-sides of the big-bump contours on the Family
Park portion of Nord/North Sissy Schuss where some
recent heat has created small flow-spots. Once again,
very, very small in relation to the overwhelmingly
beautiful conditions here otherwise.

Bottom line... “Perfect” is a concept and in the real
physical world of Mother Nature, we have to accept
that even on the best of days, there can be minor
glitches beyond human control.

In the Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed,

Continued wide ranging variation from excellent to
some raw zones, largely as a consequence of favourable
drift-in as opposed to wind exposed, and/or, lee-side
shaded as opposed to sun-drenched direct facing radiated,
all of which have acted in combined degree to generate
a fingerprint that wants you to be very observant in
pattern recognition.

There is more natural snowfall forecast, but until that
happens you need to mindful of evolving traffic wear and
we recommend speed reductions in all new explorations
until you can confirm safe passage in any new descent zones.
