Here Is The Main Thing You Need To Know About Today:
3.26.23.Historic.Record.Breaking.Natural.Snowfall.Accumulation.Statistical.Date.Mark.a.jpg
Historic.
At the Officially recorded accumulation total of 617 cm’s,
that makes this season the highest natural snowfall season
in the modern era of statistical record keeping, beating
the previous record of 615 cm’s, back in 2018/2019.
Weather Notes:
This kind and volume of precipitation in the last week of March
is consistent with our assessment that March was “In Like A Lamb”,
because evidently, March is going “Out Like A Lion”, at least as
far as any winter Ski Season is concerned.
---------- Supplementary Weather Data: ----------------
In addition to the snow, the other big(literally) feature is the wind.
These are extremely strong winds and may be responsible for
significant drifting behind the lee-sides and topographical
contours of the Mountain.

Conditions Notes:
Other than the Historic references to the records of
annual seasonal snowfall, today may represent a
challenge due to the humidity induced heaviness
in the snow.
From a utility standpoint, there is great powder snow
when this deep, if it is “Powder”, i.e., light and dry.
When there is this depth but as a damper, higher
humidity, sort-of wet snow, it may be what we would
refer to as “Construction Grade” natural snow that has
huge benefit as a Groomed and packed component in
the trail base strata.
What makes us think that, at least partially, is going from
almost 90 open trails, to 58 open trails after a 19 cm’s
one day, basically overnight, snow dump.
This is thick, heavy stuff, at least at ground levels. Maybe,
just maybe, the strong winds it was delivered with may
have air-dried it out a bit at cooler elevations, but we
think the trail reductions are either for safety concerns,
or for undisturbed retention prior to grooming, maybe both.
The other option is that at this early 6:23 A.M. hour, the
assessments for safe utility are not yet confirmed by Ski
Patrol field work, so we could see a sudden jump in the
open trails if they determine safety standards justify wide
open access.
Of course, the last scenario would be the best scenario.
---------- Conditions Caveat: ------------
Heavy, thick, abundant deep new snowfall presents
additional challenge that may be beyond posted trail
rated skill levels. Consult Tremblant Info. Ski Crews
to optimize your realistic skills with the unusual
conditions that may be a consequence of the current
snowstorm system.

The summary is:
All of this makes today potentially a huge leg workout,
and tomorrow, the promise of great groomed excellence.
